02:03Next, it's time to choose your doctrines.
02:05You can select your doctrines in the right-hand menu of the elite screen,
02:08or in the multiplayer lobby.
02:10Equipping doctrines allows you to customize your army with special traits and effects
02:14that enhance your favorite play style in battle.
02:17Army doctrines affect all of your troops,
02:19with buffs to various units or abilities,
02:21while elite doctrines work a little differently.
02:24Each elite unit has a presence and a command doctrine.
02:27The presence doctrine only comes into play
02:29once your chosen elite has been deployed onto the battlefield.
02:32To unlock the command doctrine, you must level up that elite.
02:35Once unlocked, that doctrine becomes an army doctrine,
02:38meaning you don't actually need to bring that specific elite into the game to use it.
02:43Between army doctrines and elite doctrines,
02:45you have a lot to consider before locking in your loadout.
02:48So let's say you're a big fan of whirlwind tanks in your space marine army.
02:52Who isn't?
02:53You may want to pick up the Thunderhawk redeployment doctrine,
02:56since you know that they're susceptible to getting caught by melee units.
02:59And of course, when you try to fall back,
03:02all vehicles take extra damage from behind,
03:04so you need to be careful.
03:05In situations like this,
03:07the whirlwind wouldn't have survived without Thunderhawk rescue.
03:12If you fancy the stealthy approach,
03:15pick up the Orc's Hidden Doctrine.
03:16This allows Lutas to hide in piles of scrap,
03:19so you can surprise unsuspecting enemies at just the right moment.
03:32If you're an Eldar player, try the Focus Shield's Doctrine.
03:35This creates a protective shield around your Falcon transport vehicle.

03:40the shield gives the Dark Reapers inside enough time to safely set up their attacks
03:43and take the resource point.

04:29Turrets deal massive damage,
04:31so come prepared.
04:32Once those defensive structures are down,
04:34the power core is vulnerable
04:35and victory is within reach.
04:42But before you fight,
04:44you must build.
04:45Base building returns
04:46and plays a critical role in advancing your army.
04:49Dozens of units and vehicles are at your disposal
04:51and each can be upgraded mid-battle
04:53to strengthen and open up new abilities.

05:04and are accumulated over time.
05:06To speed your resource gain,
05:08you must capture and defend resource points
05:10placed throughout the map.
