00:00Hello and welcome to Matt's Casual Cooking. Today we are going to be making imitation
00:07domino bread bites. A very fluffy and delicious meal. A snack for any time of year but especially
00:16more during football season. So we're going to go over all the ingredients and how to
00:21put them together and let's get to it. Alright folks so as you can see there's not a lot of
00:30ingredients to this but that's the beauty of this recipe is there's really not a lot that you're
00:36going to need and get out and use. But what you are going to need is three cups of flour,
00:43a half a cup of sugar, three teaspoons of some sort of cooking oil. You're also going to need
00:51four to eight ounces of melted butter and you're going to need parmesan cheese. Now I can't tell
00:58you how much parmesan cheese just going to depend on how much you want to put on there. Obviously
01:05I'm not using the whole bottle for this recipe just parts of it. And you are also going to need
01:11a packet of yeast. Now to proof this one we are going to need one cup of warm water and
01:20that's
01:20going to be between 100 and 110 degrees and one teaspoon of sugar and because that's going to get
01:27them going. So we're going to put everything together and I will see there. Alright folks so
01:38initially in your bowl you just want to take your flour and your sugar and you just want to put
01:45it in
01:46there. Just kind of stir it around. Just get it nice and combined. And you just want to make a
01:51nice little well for yourself.
01:55Kind of push it off to the side. Some of it just create a nice little well. And then take
02:00your yeast. Once it's done you're going to have a lot of foam on it. This is about five minutes
02:06worth of yeast activation. So if you don't have anything kind of like this you might need to start over
02:14again. It's not a big deal.
02:16Now go ahead and pour it in. All we're going to do is go ahead. Now you can use an
02:26electric mixer for this if you want. We're just going to stir it all together. Now if you don't think
02:33you have enough water to combine everything you can go ahead and add a little bit more probably about an
02:43eighth of a cup at a time.
02:45To kind of make sure that it is really kind of stuck together and that it really combines. So like
02:55I said go ahead. I'm probably going to have to add a little bit more water here but not a
02:59big deal.
03:03Alright so once you've combined it together and added any potentially extra water that we're looking for. Go ahead and
03:12take your oil and you're just going to add your three teaspoons and you're just going to mix it into
03:19the dough.
03:19And that's really all you're going to do. Go ahead and do that and we'll move on to the next
03:24step.
03:29Alright folks so you can see our oil is mixed in and it's just kind of it looks lumpy but
03:35that's okay. That's kind of how it's supposed to look.
03:37We're going to roll it out on a floured surface after this. But what we're going to do now is
03:43we're going to go ahead and cover it and you're going to want to let it sit for about an
03:48hour or until it doubles in size.
03:51So go ahead and do that and I will see you after an hour.
03:56Alright folks so it's been a little over an hour and this has more than doubled in size so go
04:03ahead and put it out onto a floured surface.
04:08And then what we're just going to do is we're just going to kind of knead some of the flour
04:13in.
04:15You're just going to want to kind of punch out some of the air. You can tell the dough is
04:22very kind of elastically at this point. That's really what we really kind of want so it comes out all
04:30nice and fluffy.
04:31So we don't want to fold in too much. You really want to keep the flour to a minimum. And
04:37then we're just going to just punch it down a little bit. Kind of fold it together.
04:46And you want to make sure it really feels and stays as elastic as it is. You can tell it's
04:54very doughy. It's very kind of flabby. Kind of what we want to stick with.
05:00So that's really it. So just kind of do that for a couple minutes, for a minute or two and
05:04then I will see you when we start cutting.
05:08Alright folks so the dough is done. It's been kneaded.
05:14And what I've done is I've stretched it out and I've kind of cut it at the length normally a
05:21breadstick would be.
05:22And that's because we want to do that so we don't have to keep trying to roll the whole thing
05:27at once. We can work in sections.
05:30So now all you want to do is if you want to take a cutter or take like some scissors.
05:36We're just going to cut
05:41about one inch-ish
05:43kind of squares.
05:44And go ahead and put that on a baking sheet.
05:49Either greased, ungreased, or if you want, like I'm using a silicone mat.
05:54I'm just going to add it
05:56to it.
05:57Now for your
05:59cooking options, once you're done
06:01putting them on there,
06:03is we're going to turn the oven
06:06to 375 degrees
06:08and we're going to cook initially
06:09for about 7 minutes.
06:11And the reason we're cooking it
06:14kind of such a short time is
06:15because what we're looking for
06:17is we're looking for it to
06:19obviously cook,
06:20but we're looking for a very light brown
06:24on the outside of it.
06:26We don't really want it
06:27too tough because basically then it's just
06:30kind of almost croutons at that point.
06:33So
06:34go ahead and do that.
06:36Turn your oven to 375
06:38and at 7 minutes
06:41if it's not
06:43done,
06:43only give it about
06:452 minutes more
06:48and look,
06:49because we don't want to go over
06:50and really brown
06:51too much of the
06:52outside of these.
06:54So go ahead and do that
06:55and I will
06:56see you at the end.
06:59Alright folks,
07:00so
07:01it's actually been about
07:02probably 11 minutes
07:03for me,
07:05but you can see
07:07the dough is
07:08kind of browning on top
07:10just slightly
07:11and it's still pretty
07:14pretty doughy inside
07:15and that's really
07:16if you press down on it
07:17you're going to feel
07:19a little bit of a pushback
07:21but you're going to know
07:22it's done
07:22because you've still got
07:23kind of like a nice
07:24kind of soft fluffy center.
07:26So all you're going to do now
07:29is you're just going to want
07:30to take your butter
07:32and you're just going to want
07:33to
07:35spread a little on top.
07:40You don't need necessarily
07:41to do too much.
07:44So then after you're done
07:47just take your Parmesan cheese
07:49and you're just going to want
07:50to sprinkle a little
07:53on top.
07:56It's probably a little bit
07:57easier to do this
07:58with just your hand
07:59just kind of sprinkle it
08:00and that's what you want
08:01to do for
08:03all of them.
08:04So go ahead and do that
08:05and I will
08:06see you at the end.
08:10Alright folks,
08:11so you can see
08:12we are done.
08:14We got the nice,
08:15again,
08:16the very fluffy
08:17bread bite.
08:18They're very delicious.
08:21Now as far as
08:22dipping sauces go,
08:23you really can do
08:24whatever you want,
08:25whatever you enjoy,
08:26like honey mustard,
08:28marinara,
08:29like a butter
08:29and garlic
08:30or butter
08:30and like herb sauce
08:32with that as well.
08:34It goes really good.
