03:34Uncapping the frame rate so the players can play as fast as their machine can go.
03:38Feels like butter when you're moving at a really high frame rate, moving that mouse, moving your character around and
03:43be able to do sweeping snapshot 180s.
03:51We talked a lot about how fast the player should be able to go left to right, I was very
03:57much on the side of keeping preservation of momentum, that core sort of bungee magic of my player.
04:03Feels like they're moving through a real world in a real manner.
04:10Every little thing matters, we change the way you change weapons multiple times on this project because it just didn't
04:15feel right and to me it just really starts with how it feels to acquire targets.
04:21Aiming mechanics is really, really important to this game.
04:25The approach we took was pretty straight forward, it was play it, see what sucks and fix it.
04:35There were definitely parts where we got it right, we got it wrong, we broke and we improved so it
04:40took some doing but we definitely got there.
04:52The reveal event for us was absolutely critical.
04:59Today Destiny 2 is coming to the PC.
05:04It was a really nerve-wracking moment showing the PC version to the world for the very first time.
05:09What we showed was really just a core of the Destiny experience but with all those PC features.
05:15The reveal event was the starting point.
05:18We had to either land solidly and show the world, hey we're here, we mean it, or we would just
05:23become another, oh yeah that game's coming to PC.
05:42What I found at E3, because it was open to the public, was how ravenous fans were about playing the
05:47PC version.
05:51It's really good, it's running really smoothly, the button layup's looking really good.
05:55I mean it was fantastic, like the rain effect, all the explosions.
05:59Felt very intuitive and just a lot of fun.
06:02I was excited to see other people play it, if they like burst into tears because it's awful, like I'm
06:07right there.
06:08But if they get super excited about it, you know, I'm right there too.
06:11One of our streamer friends, he's like hey just ship that.
06:15I wish I could, we got a little ways to go, we'll get there.
06:20I don't have a lot of idols but I played the out of Diablo.
06:25Going to Battle.net, it was a big deal.
06:29I think in a lot of ways Blizzard and Bungie are kindred spirits.
06:32We've both been around making games for about 25 years and I think it's really awesome to see
06:36Destiny 2 alongside those amazing games.
06:39I think that being the first non-Blizzard game to ship on that platform is equally challenging and exciting.
06:46We needed to make sure that you could invite people on your Blizzard friends list into the game.
06:50That's something that we had to build from the ground up.
06:53Text chat gives you that ability to hit up somebody who is in another game even.
06:57You can whisper and be like hey Billy come on over, we're gonna raid.
07:05Destiny 2 PC Beta.
07:08The beta was a different kind of scary.
07:10I think the beta was more nerve-wracking than the reveal event.
07:14With so much different hardware, who knows what's going to happen with someone that has a card that
07:18we haven't tested. But the fact is we actually didn't find that many huge compatibility issues
07:23and that has been a testament to the work that we put in with our partners.
07:26Yeah, look at these guys.
07:28Literally anybody who was like we've got a compat lab, we're like hey how do we get the game in
07:31there?
07:32It all needs to be playable across the spectrum of very fancy dual GPU machines with triple monitor
07:38setups and HDR all the way down to someone who's trying to play on the very minimum specifications.
07:46PC people want to be able to play the way they want to. They love to tinker, they love to
07:50customize.
07:51Some players want less frame rate for more resolution.
07:54Other players actually just want amazing FPS. They want the frames and that's all they're looking for.
07:59After the PC beta I came in and sat down next to Grant and I was like dude it's playing
08:04really well.
08:05He just looks at me and he says like just flat face just it's not good enough.
08:09I use my own frustration as a threshold.
08:12And like turns back to his computer to keep working on it.
08:15All right, maybe I'm relentless.

08:31The passion for PC gaming runs deep inside Bungie so when the opportunity came to build a PC version
08:37everybody jumped at the opportunity to do it and do it right.
08:41It's destiny for the first time on PC so it's a really big moment for us.
08:45We built this game thinking about the things that you love because we love them too.
08:48Launch isn't the end right? Like it it always keeps going and we always want to keep improving it.
