00:07Actually, how about a new update to the Sea of Thieves Technical Alpha?
00:10That's right, pirates!
00:12Ready your crews and hoist your shovels to unearth some priceless new features.
00:21Since we started the Sea of Thieves Technical Alpha,
00:24thousands upon thousands of players have been adventuring on the waves,
00:28scouring shipwrecks and cryptic clues,
00:30and rising above their rivals to lay claim to eye-popping loot.
00:35And voyagers in this fantastical world
00:37will find their stories influenced by the other players who share it with them.
00:41So these are some of your new tools for richer interaction
00:44with pirates whose lives converge with yours.
00:50There are plenty of reasons why a pirate might stay silent,
00:53like a mouthful of stolen jewels or an intense outbreak of gingivitis.
00:57Whatever the reasoning of those who avoid voice chat,
01:00we're now offering a backup option in the form of good old-fashioned text.
01:04You can choose from a chest full of contextual phrases to send to your crew.
01:08So whether you're stepping up to take the wheel,
01:10or brainstorming clues in clammy caves,
01:13you can make sure your crewmates know what's what.
01:16The Brick!
01:18The crews that make legends are those that bond and fight together.
01:22But sometimes, you'll get a rogue who upsets the balance.
01:28Now, you might say that mutinous dogs are just part of the pirate life,
01:32but we believe in the pirate code.
01:34If you've got a serial troublemaker on your ship,
01:36you can now vote to banish them to the Brick,
01:39where they'll stay until the remaining crew members decide they've served their time.
01:46And if you do end up in the Brick yourself,
01:49you can still speak to your crew and try to justify your filthy misdeeds.
01:53Better make it convincing.
01:54You'll need a unanimous vote to get out.
01:58Scuttling!
01:59There may be times in Sea of Thieves when your real-world rivals are proving too hard to shake off,
02:04or the odds that you're facing seem insurmountable.
02:07Should you feel that things have reached the point of no return,
02:10you and your crew can elect to sink your own ship, known as Scuttling.
02:15As your beloved vessel sinks tragically into the sea's cold embrace,
02:19it's fine, you'll get over the guilt eventually,
02:21you can think about summoning the mermaid to try and salvage it in a safer location
02:25and get back to your voyage.
02:28The Small Ship
02:30Helping to fulfill the piratical fantasies of those who would rather go alone
02:34is the option of heading into open waters on a smaller ship.
02:38You'll still have to manage similar features to the large ship,
02:41but as this one was designed for a reduced crew,
02:44sailing is simplified with a wheel that needs fewer turnways,
02:47a capstan that's easier to raise,
02:50and a sail that keeps the view ahead clear.
02:53With only two cannons on board,
02:55the small ship lacks the destructive force of the large ship,
02:58but makes up for it in agility.
03:01You'll be able to turn tighter circles at speed,
03:03letting you outmaneuver bulky rivals and give them a broadside where it hurts.
03:10If it doesn't work out, swing the prow around and run for it.
03:13Bravely, of course.
03:15These and other features are available to players now,
