00:00I'll tell you the one that killed me was St. John's. I thought for sure they would be a four.
00:05We had Rick Pitino on the show last week, and he said, look, I expect to be a four if
00:10we win.
00:11They beat a UConn team that drubbed them, obviously, a couple of weeks before.
00:15I thought maybe there was even a shot at a three, but a four felt automatic.
00:19To get a five and then kick him out west, I thought was wrong.
00:23What was your reaction to St. John's?
00:25If you want me to be honest, we had him at a five.
00:27I think there were some stronger candidates.
00:30It's three quad 1A wins in a down Big East.
00:33I think you think about strength of resume and strength of schedule,
00:36and there were just some teams playing in these other power conferences
00:40with similar amount of quad 1A wins, but the rest of the schedule had a better body of work.
00:45So is it their fault that they played in a down East?
00:48No. Is that just kind of the reality of the situation?
00:50Yes. Is it kind of a shot in the chest to not only be a five,
00:54but then kick him out west does feel a little bit bizarre,
00:56but we have to remember, which means they're not a top five seed.
00:59Like the top seed of each seed line is going to get geographical benefit.
01:05Now after the top four seeds, it gets a little more wishy-washy,
01:08but that tells us that they weren't even the top.
