00:32And today we're going to check out Overkill's The Walking Dead
00:35And more specifically the behind the scenes for the Aiden trailer
00:40Overkill's The Walking Dead is a four player co-op first person shooter
00:43And because of this it was important for us and our partner Skybound
00:47To make sure that Goodbye Kansas had all the tools they needed
00:50To represent the game the best way possible
00:56We started this really good collaboration with Goodbye Kansas
01:00That could really understand the vision that we were going for
01:04And that could really take the tone of the game
01:07And create something cool with it
01:27I'm Andre Wallin and I was the director for Aiden
01:31I wanted this trailer to be very suggestive
01:33Not only because it worked well for the teaser format
01:36But it also gave us a well-paced narrative
01:38That gave the viewer a chance to let the world sink in
01:44You know the goal was to capture both the brutality
01:47And the greatness of The Walking Dead universe
01:49And at the same time conveying Aiden as a character with substance
02:21With Aiden's trailer
02:22Together we merged these two walls, the gritty post-apocalyptic universe from The Walking Dead
02:30and our unique attitude from Overkill.
02:33That's why we decided together with Goodbye Kansas
02:36to go for something that helps us envision and show to people
02:41that we are having a unique take on this universe.
02:45You see the character Aiden and as you will do in the game
02:48you need to take those choices, right?
02:50Like do I attract zombies to go somewhere?
02:52Do I take another route?
02:54But in this case Aiden decides to go up front against them
02:57and then just dispatch them.
03:27Hi, I'm Henrik Eklund and I had the pleasure of working as the VFX supervisor for this amazing trailer.
03:34Collaborating closely with Starbreeze worked really well.
03:36It was easy for us to use their in-game assets and translating them to cinematic detail.
03:41This allowed us to keep the art direction and the tonality set by Starbreeze.
04:00I think we really nailed the perfect level between realism and game.
04:01We wanted to step up our game in delivering a character that could be really lifelike.
04:05So together with Starbreeze's great character design and our elite character artist together with our new facial rig,

04:24Our team had so much fun doing this project and you can really tell from the detail of the street
04:28where Aiden had his fun.
04:30all the way to the skin pores of Aiden that really put our hearts into it and I think it
04:35turned out really really great.
