Un trailer per la mappa Dunkirk di Call of Duty: WWII - La Macchina da Guerra.
Trascrizione
00:00This is our series Map Briefings, where we're going to give you the information you need before going into battle.
00:05Today, we're going to look at Dunkirk.
00:11Hey, I'm Matt Abbott, lead artist for multiplayer at Sledgehammer Games.
00:15My name is Gabriel Galaz, multiplayer level designer at Sledgehammer Games, and I worked on the maps for DLC 2,
00:21The War Machine.
00:21For this map, we wanted to show the story of Operation Dynamo, also known as the Miracle of Dunkirk.
00:27When people think of Dunkirk, there's a very specific image that comes to mind.
00:32On the beach side, we have the evacuation taking place.
00:35On the residential side, we have the German war machine encroaching our stranglehold on this beach.
00:41This map is really unique because it doesn't follow our traditional design.
00:45It's got two very distinct methods of gameplay.
00:48So this line I'm drawing here divides the map basically by play style.
00:53If you are entering this map and you like to play with SMGs, shotguns, that close range kind of stuff,
01:00then you definitely want to stick in this apartment buildings over on this side of the map.
01:04But if you prefer more long-range, mid-range options, then you want to stick to the beach and the
01:09boardwalk sections at the level.
01:10The boat is a very strong position in this map, gives you a lot of vantage points to look at.
01:17You can control a large portion of the map from it.
01:19So any enemies trying to approach you, you have visibility over them.
01:22If you get some beddies and set them up at the back of the boat or around the boat,
01:27areas where you think players are going to mantle up of it, that's terrible.
01:30For them, not for you.
01:32If you look at the ground, how it intersects the boat here, you can see that it dips down.
01:37So a character may be about this tall, right?
01:41When I come up to here, all of a sudden, I'm just looking over the top.
01:45If I'm crouched, I've got my gun.
01:47I'm basically just exposing the tip of my head and I can see anyone trying to come down here.
01:53Or go prone.
01:58It's really easy to control large sections of the map from specific areas.
02:02If you're a sniper, definitely recommend hanging out in these bay windows.
02:07This is the only way to access that bay window that overlooks the beach.
02:10If you picture these stairs going behind this wall up there,
02:15what I'll do is I'll put a bouncing beddy right here.
02:17So someone running up, it'll trigger and I'll have another one.
02:20So I still have one more alert in case someone else is coming up after that guy.
02:26What it does is it buys me time at that bay window.
02:28I just think it's such a power position.
02:30I want to hold it as long as I can.
02:32We really wanted to capture the essence of what this evacuation was like,
02:37not only from a gameplay perspective, but from a historical perspective.
02:41So we think we did a really good job of marrying those two elements together.
02:45We had a lot of fun making this map and we can't wait to see you on the beaches of
02:48Dunkirk.
02:51We'll be right back.
02:51We'll be right back.
