00:00It's a deep, deep hunger in the field right now to throw down.
00:04So, Sacha Belico, 28 years old, he's sitting in fourth,
00:07another part of this powerhouse, Team France.
00:11Out of the six riders that made the cut, four of them are French,
00:14and Sacha is part of that squad.
00:17They are rolling heavy right now.
00:20Sacha Belico rolling right out of start one
00:23and immediately into the action as the ground...
00:26It's so convex here, Rylan.
00:28It's hard for the riders really to know where they're going.
00:30Scoping's got to be on point.
00:32Yeah, for sure.
00:33Oh, look at that.
00:35Yes, that was sick.
00:37This guy is having a good one.
00:40He is having himself one here today, that's for sure.
00:42Look at that light.
00:43Look at that snow.
00:44Does it get any better?
00:46So, big 360.
00:48Sacha ticking all the boxes.
00:50A lot of the riders were so excited just to do the ride,
00:53to get on this face, never mind the fact that it's a competition.
00:56And Sacha Belico definitely embodying that right now.
01:01As he makes his way, you can see where some of those slough runnels have kind of landed,
01:04and he gets back into this absolute perfect powder down the spine line.
01:09We can see our Freeride World Tour photographer there.
01:12I think that's Dom Dare.
01:14Just he's going to come up with a whole pocket full of bangers.
01:17And now it rolls away again as Sacha gets into the meat and potatoes of this venue.
01:22Oh, yeah.
01:22That's a nice little gnar nugget here for him.
01:27Flowing it nicely, too.
01:28Just look at that.
01:29I mean, the light today, these guys are having, these are film lines.
01:34And it gets so steep, even though it's down near the bottom.
01:38Clicking.
01:39Perfect connection.
01:40He's going to get out of the slough and back into the powder.
01:43A little tail press on the board.
01:45And Sacha is down clean with an absolutely masterful run down this huge Alaskan face.
01:53We pan back up.
01:54And he's still not done.
01:56They come onto that little Jarvis Glacier,
01:57and it still feels like you have over a kilometer to go to get to the finish.
02:01Yeah.
02:02I mean, the way he flowed through that, you're coming in throughout the line.
02:07You can only see the next section.
02:09You're not able to just have it laid out in front of you.
02:13So to come in and flow that well, no slowdown, stayed on his feet, took big errors.
02:19That 360 was epic.
02:21Like, this guy just had a great run.
02:24That was really fun to watch.
02:26Yeah, not even a hint of a bobble in this run.
02:29We can see from the fluidity score there from the video judge.
02:33But fluidity is only relative to the terrain you're in.
02:37Look at that shot.
02:38And honestly, to go any faster than that would be really challenging.
02:41Yeah, straight up.
02:42I mean, you can't just go full pin over a blind roll.
02:45You've got to slow it up there.
02:47I mean, that guy masterfully rode this face.
02:49That was great.
02:51It's really cool for me to be here and see this next generation really stepping up and taking it to
02:57the next level.
02:59It's cool.
03:00Yeah, and a huge shout out to the riders.
03:02So it's been a rush because we only got, most people got here yesterday or the day before.
03:07We had to move it up because we've got sun today.
03:10See the score dropping for Sasha?
03:12And it goes to 78-6-7.
03:14That is a solid score for the second man down.
03:17So the riders only got their first look at this face this morning.
03:20We came up to the ridge.
03:22They got the binos out.
03:23They were looking.
