01:32Are you surprised he's still out there?
01:34He hasn't signed like a lower level deal with some team?
01:36No, I think there's quite, you know, it's, after the flurry, there's guys that are going
01:40to take their time and actually maybe take some meetings and visits and maybe needs a physical,
01:44all that kind of stuff.
01:45So, not a complete surprise given, you know, and he is one of those guys this year where
01:50you look at his stats and you're like, I didn't realize he was active for that many games.
01:54But it always felt like he was either working his way back from a hamstring injury or you
02:00weren't getting the full, like, I still, I feel like this year I would include in these
02:05last three years where he's had multiple injury concerns.

02:08So, teams are going to be careful with him, I think.
02:09He was huge in that Pittsburgh playoff game, man.

02:12He was massive in that, but he got, he, he got like half the amount of yards, the amount
02:17of yards he got in the Pittsburgh game equated to like half of what he had the whole regular

02:25So, that, I mean, it was, it really led to me going, man, is 16 million bucks worth a
02:29guy winning a playoff game for you?
02:31Which I don't, if, you know, they'd probably win, they won the game 30 to six, so he's not
02:34worth 24 points, but your defense scored two of the touchdowns in that game.
02:38He got you out of some big spots in that game, but I'm with you.
02:41I'm not surprised he's still out there.
02:42And I think there's a 0% chance he's coming back here, if I had to guess.

02:48I think Danico Autry, it would, it would be interesting.

02:54There were reports to, I forget if it was Aaron Wilson or Jonathan Alexander, maybe both,
02:59that Danico wasn't totally in tune with what his role's been on this team.

03:41And then they went, then they went and they signed Daniil Hunter.

03:44And then Daniil Hunter, and then, and then Danico Autry ended up starting the season suspended
03:49and had some injury issues.
03:51But yeah, I don't, I, I'll be surprised if he's back.
03:54If he is, it's not going to be making as much money as Danico Autry.

03:58He ain't making that.
03:59He signed, I think it was two years, 20 million bucks he signed here.
04:02And boy, and if I, if you were to ask me, I don't want to go too deep on Danico

04:06but you're like, so was he worth it?
04:07I'm like, well, objectively, no, he didn't play enough games for, to be worth it.
04:10But man, when he was on the field, it felt like he showed up, man.
04:14Well, and, and part of that too, is Danico credited Danico specifically for why so many
04:20kickers miss kicks versus the Texans.

04:23It's not just the blocks kicks.
04:25He's, he's one of the all-time leaders in blocked kicks.
04:28And PATs and all of that.
04:31And there is a, there's almost like a psychological warfare element to it, to where the kickers
04:37are aware that Danico Autry's out there.
04:39So it's not just the kicks he's blocked.
04:41This year, the Texans were the best in the league in terms of opponent field goal percentage.
04:46That like, those are, those are the little things that don't pop up in the box score and
04:50everything.
04:50But he was a key element of a really good defense.

04:54And those, those missed kicks in a few of those games came, sure came in handy.

05:00I would love Derek Barnett to come back.
05:03And I don't know how much money he's going to command elsewhere.
05:06Like when the Texans, when the Texans got him from Philadelphia, people were looking at
05:12him like, oh boy, it's a shame.
05:14He was a promising player at one point in his career, but it looks like he's done.
05:17And he came here and he's done nothing but show up in really huge moments.

05:23He plays about, he plays about a quarter of the snaps defensively, played 387 snaps last
05:29year.

05:30So like between a quarter to a third of the defensive snaps and he's made some big plays
05:34and yeah, I think that he's probably out there exploring his options.
05:38Maybe there's a better deal out there, but I would imagine if there isn't anything great
05:42out there that he'd, he'd like to come back.

07:06Remember I was on in Cleveland and they asked me about Nick Chubb.

07:10Whether the Texans were going to have him back this year.
07:12And I kind of, I had not considered it for even a second.

07:21A city that reveres Nick Chubb.

07:26And I thought, yeah, for the contract, the Texans had him on last year and for, for how
07:31he looked in the Steelers game, you know, a couple of the nice runs that he had later
07:35in the season.
07:36If, if they brought him back on a one year, $2 million deal, I'd, I'd think, uh, I'd be
07:42very, very cool with that because that's a, that's a throwaway amount, you know, that's
07:47a, that's a number.
07:48Like they just signed Naquan Jones for that deal.

07:50So I, I would be cool with it.
07:52I, if I had to gamble whether or not it happens, I would guess it doesn't.
07:56Yeah, I would get, and honestly, if the money is at that level, Nick Chubb's a guy who's

08:39Cause this guy was a captain on the team last year.
08:42Dare Ogumbawale.
08:44You think Dare is back.
08:46I think the biggest thing Texans fans fear about Dare Ogumbawale is that the team is going
08:52to value his contributions, uh, or, or his reliability more than they should.
08:58And that he's going to end up being your starting running back or in the mix.

09:04They feel, um, I would say, how old is he now?
09:08Dare is, uh, I'll, I'll, he was, I'll tell you, he was in training camp with the Texans
09:15in West Virginia in 2017.

09:18So he's in his, he's in at least his 10th year in the league.
09:21I think, um, yeah, it'd be cool if he comes back, but I would, a coin toss as to whether
09:24he does.
09:25And, uh, it is like, I, I really liked the career that he's made for himself after, after
09:30a previous Texans coach didn't think much of Dare Ogumbawale at all.
09:34No, he's lasted a lot longer than anybody thought he would.
09:37I like him.
09:38He's, you know, he, they just can't, he can't be as high up the options in the running back
09:42room as they've had him the last few years.
09:44Well, I think the other thing is that there, they are, there's always going to be younger
09:48guys who can also contribute on special teams and do things that it, uh, that it's like,
09:54you can't just keep carving out role.
09:56You can't have 10 guys on your team that are here because they're awesome dudes in special
10:00teams.
10:00Right, right, right.
10:01Um, I'm just going to read the last three names on the list.
10:04And if any, if, if any of these interest you, Seth, you tell me tight end, Harrison Bryant
10:09cornerback, miles, Bryant linebacker, Damone Clark.
10:12Um, I suppose miles Bryant, just cause of familiarity, et cetera, et cetera.
10:16But also I, but I, I need them to upgrade to the point where there were times last year
10:21it got really scary when all of a sudden miles Bryant was playing.
10:23Um, that the, the depth in the secondary is awesome.
10:27As the secondary is, it feels like there's a bigger drop off than there should be when
10:32any one of them get injured, gets injured.
10:34So that, that I'd like them to, I'd like them to improve the depth of the, I would submit
10:39a cornerback cornerback is a position that has not been addressed in free agency to my
10:46satisfaction yet.
10:47I know we did a segment, uh, earlier in the year where I was doing the five things I want
10:53the Texans to really attack in the early part of the off season.
10:56And I said, shop around in that veteran cheaper cornerback bin to get somebody that you feel
11:03a little bit better about.
11:04If something happens to Lasseter or Stingley, if I were to real quick, just the guys that
11:08the guys that give me, uh, the warm fuzzies where I'm like, Oh yeah, bring him back of that
11:12list of guys.
11:14Uh, right now, Derek Barnett, there's your list that reminds me of a scene from the Simpsons
11:23when the Germans bought the nuclear power plant back in the day.
11:26And they're like, we regret to inform you of the following layoffs, Homer Simpson, that
11:33is all, I know if I'm being honest, that's the only one where I feel like, yeah, bring
11:40him back and he's, he's part of the mojo.
11:42I would feel that way.
11:43These guys are mojo guys.
11:45Derek Barnett, mojo guy.
11:46I would feel that way about Autry.
11:48It's just, I'm buying into the reports that he may not want to be back.
