00:00I've only been here for two years and the police being called on me a lot, four times in one
00:03day.
00:04Like again.
00:05I'm going to be on the Homeowner Association Board.
00:07We pay for the lake.
00:09It's a private lake, so if you live in the neighborhood, all you have to do is do something.
00:12Introduce yourself.
00:13Who are you?
00:15That's good to know.
00:16Where do you live?
00:17I live right down here.
00:18Where?
00:19What street?
00:19What's your address?
00:21Say that again?
00:22What is it?
00:23I'm not telling you anymore.
00:24You got it the first time.
00:24You got it on tape.
00:25You're recording.
00:26Where do you live?
00:27Where do you live?
00:28I told you.
00:29Okay.
00:29That don't mean I got to tell you where I live.
00:33Who does that?
00:34You can break it to my home.
00:36I don't know you.
00:37And they called him.
00:40Like again.
00:42This is the third time.
00:44So I live.
00:45I'm getting famous off this by now.
00:47What's going on?
00:48I live here and they keep calling the police on me.
00:51You got your ID?
00:52Yeah.
00:53See?
00:54And every time.
00:55You have your ID.
00:56And it just keeps happening.
00:59All right.
01:00Mr. Policeman.
01:01Video evidence.
01:02I'm just letting you know right here.
01:03Mr.
01:04Who lives over here.
01:07It's harassing me.
01:09I'm living in this neighborhood because he think I don't live here.
01:12Because of whatever reason.
01:13Black, young, whatever reason.
01:15But he's right here.
01:15I just asked him if he want me to call the police or not.
01:19And he said, I don't live here.
01:21So this is the reason why I'm calling you.
01:23This is the video evidence.
01:24See your ID.
01:26I'm going to get this time to call them back.
01:28Can't hold their name.
01:32We'll have a discussion as a community about the black, white part of things.
01:37That's obviously paramount.
01:40It's the issue.
01:42Because many times, Tony is out here with his best friend, Elijah, who called the catfish.
01:47He's what?
01:48He's what?
01:50Very loud.
01:51Sometimes he can be obnoxious.
01:53Locked.
01:54And you know who they come and harass?
01:56They come and harass him.
01:58So now they're trying to make up some rules.
02:00You can't have two poles of a certain distance or something like that within each other while you're fishing.
02:12That's funny.
02:13Because I thought everybody could fish there.
02:15And literally, when I go there, other people fish there.
02:17Like the first time was actually, like I said, over here.
02:21And it was just like...
02:22The same place I was fishing yesterday.
02:23I got harassed by the lady.
02:25And it was like in the middle of the day, too.
02:26I remember, and I was out here fishing, and I came back over to my truck to get some extra
02:32lures or something like that, whatever.
02:34And it just was about to cross back over.
02:36This dude, who lives up the street, pulls up right in front of me.
02:40And he's like, hey, so do you live here?
02:42And I'm kind of like, what?
02:44He's like, do you live here?
02:45And I'm like, why would you ask me that question?
02:47Like, that's not being there, really.
02:49Right, right, right.
02:50And he was like, oh, I'm like, dude, just go.
02:52And I ignored him and just walked away.
02:54So he drove away.
02:54These cameras and these cans are really bothering people of color.
02:58Police came because they called the police.
03:02A can, for the first time, called the police on me.
03:06Me and my friend Catfish, who's a white guy, which is insane, because they thought that he lived there and
03:14I didn't.
03:14They bypassed him and two other white people and went to me and was like, hey, you don't live here.
03:18You're not supposed to fish here.
03:19I'm like, oh, my gosh.
03:20And my friend had to tell him, dude, he invited me.
03:23I don't live here.
03:25Well, when it comes to racism, it's a topic and it's a hot topic.
03:30And it should have been a hot topic, to be absolutely honest.
03:33But when it comes to racism, I really don't try to get into the conversation because I don't like arguing
03:40or yelling or even debating, to be absolutely honest, unless it's going to be educational.
03:44And this is, so that's why I'm debating about it right now.
03:47That day, I was called on four separate times.
03:51Four separate people bothered me that day from fishing.
03:53And it was me and two of my homegirls who, I'm not going to say they're studs, but they dress
03:57like studs.
03:58They dress like me.
04:00And they're free spirits.
04:01We'll just say that.
04:02But, you know, we look kind of intimidating a little bit and she didn't care.
04:05So when people say, oh, I felt intimidated, you're lying.
04:07You're lying.
04:08You're lying.
04:08You're lying.
04:09You're lying.
04:09You were nosy.
04:10You drove by our cars, or their cars, because they drove me.
04:14They got to have a car at the time.
04:15Drove by, stopped the vehicle, drove back approximately 10 yards, looked at their car, came out of the vehicle, walked
04:24your little happy, annoying self 100 to 200 feet, and then start bothering us.
04:29Do you live here?
04:30And the whole time it's a smile.
04:31It's a fake smile.
04:32You guys live here?
04:34How you doing?
04:36Oh, well, if you live here and out of residence, this is Private Lake.
04:39So I'm going to take down your license plate, and then I'm going to send it to the proper authorities.
04:44That's how you know you feel like you're privileged, racist, whatever you want to call it.
04:49She smiled the whole time like she just knew she was in the right.
04:53And guess what?
04:54She got fired the next day.
04:56In the same neighborhood, a white man, one of my neighbors, and he's very cool.
05:02I love him, man.
05:03He's super cool.
05:04He's seen the video.
05:05He said, hey, let me talk to you.
05:06Let me talk to you, young blood.
05:07You know what I'm saying?
05:07He came, we spoke, we talked, we chopped it up.
05:10He told me his side, I told him my side.
05:12And then I had to ask him a serious question.
05:16You lived here for seven years, and you fish all the time with your son.
05:22Have you ever been bothered by anybody here about fishing or living here, or have you ever had the police
05:30call on you?
05:32His answer was, no.
05:38And that's a problem.
05:40Only being here for two years, and the police being called on me a lot, four times in one day.
05:46He never had the police call on him.
05:48He lived there for seven, not several, seven years.
05:53It's disturbing.
05:56It happens all the time.
05:59Only time it doesn't happen is I want to go fishing by myself.
06:02And I have to be the typical black person so it won't happen.
06:05Like the stereotypical, not the typical, but the stereotypical black person.
06:08People come by.
06:09I know they're being nosy just so they could bother me and be a Karen or a Ken.
06:13They walk by.
06:13I literally make this face every time.
06:17They just walk by and see them.
06:23And then they leave me alone.
06:26However, if I invite guests, they're nice, and they're from the South, and not from California.
06:30So, you know, I'm not going to say everybody, but they don't just don't read body language as good as
06:34I do.
06:34And they're just nice and talking to people and high.
06:37And then that's when they start digging in.
06:40You live here.
06:40You don't live here.
06:42Where you live.
06:43I mean, these are straight citizens, people that I live by that's asking me these questions.
06:49Do you live here?
06:51Answer, yes.
06:52Where do you live?
06:54Around the corner.
06:56What street do you live on?
06:58What?
06:59I'm not telling you that.
07:00What's your address?
07:01What's your name?
07:03Do you have your ID on you?
07:05Are you an undercover cop?
07:08How is this possible that you could ask me all those questions and feel so comfortable that someone won't do
07:12anything about it?
07:13That would never happen in California.
07:15Can you believe it's 2023 and we're still dealing with this?
07:19All Anthony wants to do is fish and he's facing unnecessary trouble every day.
07:24Of course, the comment section spoke volumes with one person writing, wow, this is incredibly sad.
07:30And I'm sorry that this happens so often.
07:33But in the midst of all the negativity, there's also a silver lining.
07:38Anthony's got an army of supporters backing him up.
07:40One person said, keep doing what you're doing.
07:43They don't like that you're showing the world who they are.
07:46Let's not forget, Anthony has every right to film in that fishing space.
07:50It's his space too.
07:52Kudos to him for being proactive and taking the police's advice to record these situations for his own safety.
07:59Stand tall and keep fighting for your rights, Anthony.
08:02Now, that's all from me.
08:04Thanks so much for joining us here on It's Gone Viral.
