00:00Hello, ok, well, hi, I want to get started with the characters, because I'm also going to do this as
00:07a generic for the studio,
00:09you know, how do you want to explore the whole aspect of infertility, because there's a very touching scene in
00:15the movie when she says, you know, I can't even have a baby, that's kind of touching.
00:19Yeah, I mean, that's the whole kind of key to her character, is her guilt over that, wanting to do
00:26this, feeling like she messed up their life in some way by not being able to give birth, you know,
00:31not being able to get pregnant.
00:34You know, and Holly is kind of grappling with that, you know, not feeling good about herself, having a low
00:41self-esteem over that whole issue.
00:44And then wanting to get him on board with adopting so bad, and wanting a baby, as every woman at
00:51some point in her life does, you know, and how much she wanted that.
00:57For me, I wanted a baby very badly as well, right before I got pregnant, and it took like two
01:04or three years before I got pregnant,
01:06and so I was like, wow, maybe this is not supposed to happen, or maybe, you know, I don't know,
01:11something's wrong with me, and so I really understood those feelings.
01:16And then, you're not so ready, but in, like, she's kind of pushing you, so talk a little bit about
01:21the other side, you know, the parenthood, you have to be ready for that as well.
01:25Yeah, I don't think that you're ever ready for anything in life, you have to experience it, and whatever, you
01:31know, when it happens, then you're going to understand, like, oh, how ready I was, or not ready.
01:36I think Alex feels that he's definitely not ready, and he's actually scared, he's really scared.
01:43And the whole idea of adopting a kid, it's something very new for him, and I think it's very natural
01:49that, you know, he's scared.
01:51Then, you know, Holly sends him to what we call the dudes group, which is like some self-help, kind
01:58of like a bunch of dads, like, trying to, you know, therapy, trying to teach him.
02:02And it's interesting, because his journey is really about that, it's about, you know, getting to understand the process.
02:09He starts to really panic about that, and they kind of, like, make him understand what it's like to be
02:15a father, what it's like to be a parent.
02:17You know, it doesn't matter, our storyline, it's about adoption, but that's not actually the matter here.
02:24It's really about, you know, to be a parent, to love a kid, and to believe that you're ready to,
02:30you know, to do that.
02:32And understanding the woman's body as well.
02:34I mean, what surprised you the most when you were pregnant, because do you know what hormones are going to
02:39come?
02:39I mean, for me, it was the whole thing that there was another body inside me, which was really weird.
02:45It was like invasion of the body snatchers.
02:46It was like, whatever.
02:49That part, and kind of like, wow, this, like, there's a baby inside me.
02:52And then watching, getting so big, like, not believing that you're, like, my stomach could go that far.
03:00Do you know what I mean?
03:00You know, like, it's just the weird things like that, where you're just, like, looking at your body, and you're
03:04like, surely my skin will never recover from this.
03:08It did.
03:09It did.
03:10It did.
03:10It did.
03:11But, you know, that's how you feel.
03:12You're like, oh, my God.
03:13It's just an amazing, like, when they say the miracle of childbirth and being pregnant, and it's just an amazing
03:20thing.
03:21And once that they're born.
03:22Oh, my God.
03:23It's just, like, your whole life is just different and better.
03:29Obrigado.
03:30De nada.
03:30Gracias.
