Officials want "traumatic tourists" to STAY OUT of southwest Michigan areas ravaged by deadly tornados. WWJ's Luke Sloan talked with Branch County Emergency Management Coordinator Tim Miner
Transcript
00:00The biggest thing we're realizing is we have to give these people space, you know.
00:04We have to keep the traumatic tourists that want to come around and look at all this tragedy
00:10and want to just come have their own eyes on it.
00:14We've got to give these people some space, you know.
00:15They're going through their belongings that have been through a tornado, you know,
00:20picked up, dumped on the ground, rained on.
00:23They're trying to salvage things.
00:24So we've got to give them their space.
00:25We've got to give them at least the courtesy to, you know, grieve their loss
00:31and, you know, start picking up their own pieces.
00:33Our biggest emphasis here is there were lives lost, people hurt,
00:37and property that can be replaced that the people will have to work through.
00:43So that's our main concern is, you know, taking care of those that did have injuries or lives lost.
