Trascrizione
00:08Il suo nome è il suo lavoro precedente?
00:11Noi.
00:19Um, I...
00:20Uh, well, he has very good lines.
00:23That was one thing I liked, yeah.
00:26Uh...
00:28And...
00:29Other aspects of him I thought were quite, um, sad and depressing, but he was witty.
00:39And, um, witty people are fun to play.
00:45Mm.
00:52Not... No, no.
00:54I'm only aware of his, the adaptations for screen and television.
00:58I've never read any of his books, uh, which I'm ashamed to say, but...
01:03I'm not sure at all about you.
01:11I was just, uh, offered it, so I think that the decision had been taken by the casting director,
01:18Gina Jay, and the...
01:19and Susan Beer, and the producers, Simon Cornwall, and, um, I don't know, I don't know how that process was
01:27arrived at, but...
01:35Well, they're all, they're all different, so, um...
01:39It's a big production album, right?
01:41Uh, yes, I suppose, in terms of, uh, yes, there, the, this period now, in these last few years, the,
01:50uh...
01:51television is conceived on a, on a different scale than, than it ever used to be, that's for sure.
01:55Um, but it's also a co-production, um, and actually, I think it was set up in quite an unusual
02:03way, financially.
02:05So, and it's BBC, and it's AMC, and it's Ink Factory, and, um, so, uh, yeah, it's set up more
02:15like an independent film
02:17than, uh, uh, a single, financed, BBC project.
02:31Um, well, film and television are essentially, uh, the same.
02:37Uh, uh, they used to say that, uh, television, you should be slightly bigger
02:46in your style because the screen was smaller, uh, and cinema, you should be more minimalist
02:53because the screen was so big, but, obviously, everything is watched on a laptop now, so, uh,
02:59I suppose that means there's a sort of convergence.
03:03But, for animation, that's, uh, completely free and different, and, uh,
03:10that is much more like, in a way, in terms of its energy, it's more like theatre.
03:16And, uh, in terms of the way, in terms of your physical life, it's entirely liberating.
03:25You can do anything you want.
03:27So, uh, you can be a, like a child, like a clown, like a, um, yeah.
03:36It's like, it's somehow infantile, um, in the most wonderful way.
03:51Um, well, actually, probably just the gaps for me when I wasn't on it.
03:55I got, um, it was a lot of fun to be in and to be around.
04:02But I had weeks off in which I got bored.
04:09But I can't find like a brand new world.
04:35Grazie.
