00:00And last night, if you're watching that, and if you watch that game,
00:06by the way, that's how I want my team to lose.
00:07Just get your ass kicked so I can move on about my evening.
00:12There's people out there who might want to just chime in
00:14to Tournament of Champions or Hometown last night,
00:16but you felt like you had to hone in on the Rockets,
00:19and the Rockets let you know early that they were good in San Antonio.
00:26It was an ass whooping.
00:27They wanted to be at Forest Frank.
00:30Yesterday is the way they played.
00:32They need Jesus the way they're playing.
00:33Alfred Shingoon was running sprints, just getting cardio in in the second half.
00:38That's about what he was doing.
00:3916-6 again, guys.
00:42Not me just making that up.
00:43That's his line one more time last night.
00:45Alfred Shingoon.
00:46That's a shame, Ron.
00:47You remember when him and Victor were like,
00:49oh, man, these two young guys there.
00:53Not anymore.
00:54Not anymore, Clint.
00:57Yeah.
00:59It's a one-sided battle, isn't it?
01:00They're chanting MVP in the second quarter for Victor.
01:03Yeah.
01:05That ain't coming to 0-16-6.
01:07Ron, I got about two minutes worth.
01:08It was when Shingoon made that little reverse,
01:11lay it a little reverse finger roll kind of spinner thing back over the top of Wimby,
01:16and I thought, huh, this may be worth sitting down and watching.
01:19I got a little distracted.
01:20I guess it was – I didn't miss much, did I?
01:23No.
01:23I sat through a lot of it.
01:26It was a tough watch, right?
01:29This is – this was – they're starting the new Sunday night basketball on NBC
01:34like they do Sunday night football, and Mike Tirico and Reggie Miller,
01:37they had the whole gang there, and they just got their ass kicked.
01:41The 145-120 score feels like it may not have been that close.
01:47They just – like, it's a tough thing to watch, and if you watched it,
01:53tell me if you disagree with me.
01:54It just clearly felt like – and it's felt like that several times they've played,
01:59but it clearly felt like those two teams shouldn't be on the same level.
02:04Like, they're just not on the same level.
02:07They're just not on – like, it was clear who the better team was.
02:11And Kevin Durant's on the other one.
02:13It was clear who the better team was, and they could do whatever they wanted.
02:18It was almost toying with them at times.
02:21It was – it was a tough one, Reed, coming off the bench again.
02:25I just –
02:26Yeah, look, I'm glad I didn't watch because I think – would you agree, Ron,
02:30that this – that's probably going to be the hardest – the toughest peel to swallow
02:34is – it's one thing for Denver.
02:38You know, it's one thing for –
02:40OKC.
02:41An OKC, or even – you know, even a team with, you know, some established stars
02:46that it's okay for them to kind of make you – put you in a spot as a Rockets fan
02:51where you go, well, damn, that was – that was a buzz kill.
02:53It's another thing when it's some cats up the street, and they're all young,
02:57and you realize –
02:58You were supposed to be ahead of them.
02:59You're not even on the same –
03:00Well, even if you just –
03:01Coming into the year, you were supposed to be ahead of them.
03:03Yeah, but even if you look at it and go, hey, we should be on the same level.
03:06I mean, you're not there.
03:07I mean, is that – that's got to be the most painful part of this thing
03:10is that it's San Antonio doing it.
03:14And how fast they have got there.
03:17Like, how fast – and they got young – their dudes are damn –
03:20their dudes are as young as you or younger.
03:23Harper and Castle.
03:25Like, those – I mean, that was – that was – that was a tough one.
03:30And, Clint, that was a tough one because you can look at it, and it's clear, man.
03:34The Rockets, they've got some decisions to make this offseason big time
03:39because it may be – and I don't think this is an overreaction.
03:43I think we're seeing a long enough sample size of this team right now
03:47with Kevin Garnett – or Kevin Garnett.
03:50That'd be nice.
03:50With Kevin Durant playing to the level that Kevin Durant has been playing
03:55for the last – for this year and the last two months, three months.
03:59This team, they can forget about it the way it's constructed with OKC.
04:04And clearly, we can see – the Spurs damn near do this to them every time.
04:08They can forget about it with the Spurs.
04:09Right, and those two teams are teams that are right now and in the next five years.
04:15Like, those teams are building and growing.
04:17OKC has a bunch of young talent, and they've got, like, 11 first-round picks.
04:21Like, it's just – it's – like, they have got to make some decisions
04:25because this isn't just a bad week.
04:27This has been almost two months that they have looked like this.
04:32Well, the scary part of it is, is it was – it's not just a bad game.
04:36You know what I mean?
04:37Like, and I didn't watch the game.
04:39I'm just – when I do watch – more importantly, when I do watch San Antonio,
04:43they've got the ability – they seem like they have the ability
04:47to just completely overwhelm folks.
04:50You know what I mean?
04:51And that – you hope that was what the Rockets were going to be able to do
04:54on the defensive end of the floor, adding Kevin Durant,
04:56obviously Shingun and some guys taking the next step offensively,
04:59was the ability to overwhelm some good football – I mean, some good basketball teams.
05:02Like, San Antonio has the ability – and I don't think it's just the Rockets.
05:06Like, they have the ability to overwhelm folks with their length
05:08and their – what appears to be their – the physicality and the hustle,
05:14the – you know, just – they've got a – they've got a real chance here.
05:18Yeah.
05:18I'm not going to – somebody text in, Reed Shepard got minutes.
05:21What's the excuse today?
05:22He should start.
05:23That's the excuse.
05:24He should start.
05:25And I'm honest to God.
05:26Go – go – I think the Reed Shepard –
05:28Shepard thing, Clinton Tyler, to the players, except for Tari Eason.
05:33I think the Reed Shepard thing is – is affecting this – affects this team.
05:39I think right off the bat – you're right.
05:41Reed is getting more minutes.
05:43But right off the bat – if you go watch them to start the second half
05:46when Reed Shepard starts on the bench and they have that lineup out there
05:49where Eason and it's the men, Thompson, and the bigs with Durant and them.
05:55It just – there's like no sense of urgency.
05:58It moved slow.
06:00It didn't seem like everybody was in it.
06:02And then they go on a run right off the rip in the third quarter.
06:07And, you know, they fought back a little bit.
06:10They got some – but they go on a little run there where it feels like
06:14they were demoralized by then.
06:16I think starting Reed on the bench and not starting games or starting halves,
06:20I think that is problematic for them.
06:23And I think it gets into their psyche a little bit.
06:28I think he brings something in the game while he's in there.
06:32And I think he should start right off the bat.
06:34Now, I'm not saying that's going to fix everything
06:38and Reed Shepard is going to fix it.
06:40I think the Reed Shepard thing is just obvious.
06:42Like that's just giving you a better chance right now to be more successful.
06:46And he has shown that throughout.
06:48But even when they sit him and they're just playing more minutes now,
06:52even when they sit him and don't start him,
06:53it's just like everything just looks off or low or low.
06:58So, I don't know, man.
06:59That was a tough one last night.
07:02That was a damn – yep.
07:04As Raphael Stone said himself earlier, maybe this ain't our year.
07:08Yeah.
07:09He looked like that yesterday.
07:10And then it looks like if they're going to compete in the Western Conference,
07:14like really compete, unless they're good with just being like,
07:16we're going to be a playoff team.
07:18Like if they want to keep competing in the Western Conference,
07:21like that, they got to do something because that ain't going to be enough.
