Yannes Scheepbouwer from the Netherlands was filming his descent when he launched off a jump but upon landing, one of his ski bindings unexpectedly popped open, causing him to lose a ski. With only one ski left attached, Yannes was sent sliding uncontrollably down the steep slope for around 80 metres before finally managing to stop. Despite the dramatic fall, the skier was thankfully unharmed after the nerve-racking slide. Viewers quickly related to the frightening moment, with one user commenting: “Had a very similar experience on Harakiri, ski popped off. Holy cow was my phrase haha!” Another joked: “That binding betrayal.” ENDS
