A four-wheel-drive vehicle carrying two suspects involved in communications cable theft crashed into a house at Kampung Parit Panjang in Baling, Kedah, following a car chase with police on Sunday (March 8) at about 12.30am.

Gerik district police chief Superintendent Abdul Samad Othman said the two suspects managed to escape after the crash.

00:21while the homeowner and two women, including a pregnant woman, were unharmed.
00:26He said the suspects, believed to have stolen cables in Garik on Saturday and were chased by police.
00:32During the pursuit, one suspect threw a cable cutter, nails and cables at the police.
00:39Investigations revealed the four-wheel-drive was rented and 20 coils of cables,
00:44a mobile phone, three cutters and a wrecking bar were recovered.
00:49Efforts are ongoing to track the suspects,
00:51with the case investigated under Sections 379 and 186 of the Penal Code.
