Two men's escape attempt failed after they were arrested following a police chase on Jalan Taman Bukit Indah in Ampang Jaya on Thursday (Feb 26).

District police chief ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid said the incident occurred at 12:30am when his unit received a report from a patrol unit informing them that they were in pursuit of suspects driving a Volkswagen Passat.

00:04A midnight police pursuit ended in a rest Thursday, after two men attempted to flee a routine inspection and failed.
00:14At approximately 12.30 in the morning, a police mobile patrol unit in Ampang Jaya spotted a Volkswagen Passat and
00:22attempted to carry out an inspection.
00:23The suspects refused to comply and sped off. Officers immediately radioed for backup, broadcasting an alert to all units in

00:34The chase came to an end on the Surrenda Bypass Road in Hulu, Selangor, and both men were successfully apprehended.
00:41Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anwar Khalid said preliminary investigations revealed why the men ran.
00:49The suspects fled from a police inspection because they were carrying drugs and housebreaking tools.
00:55They have since been remanded for four days to assist police investigations under Section 12, Subsection 2 of the Dangerous
01:03Drugs Act, 1952, and Section 186 of the Penal Code.
