00:00Pascal Siakam, Nembhard, Nez Smith, Walker, and Huff, Lakers, Luka Doncic, Austin Reeves, Marcus Smart, no LeBron James, no DeAndre
00:13Ayton.
00:14So that means Rui Hachimura and Jackson Hayes into the starting lineup.
00:21Game number 63.
00:24Take Your Shot brought to you by Mercury Insurance.
00:27And James, gotta love your pick.
00:29Seems like every night we want to take a guy like this, Rui Hachimura.
00:33Big, big, big, big part of this tonight.
00:36And he usually thrives in games where he knows he's going to get a little bit more volume.
00:42LeBron being out.
00:44I think, you know, from the start he kind of gets excited about that.
00:48Because he's played well in games where they needed him to step up when players are out.
00:53So only two rebounds in the last game.
00:55I keep harping at that.
00:56I still want him to get, but it could be, you know, where he positions himself, where
01:00he's playing defense on the perimeter.
01:02But he needs to get in there and get some rebounds, too.
01:05But I look forward to him having a good one tonight.
01:07Yeah, I mean, I think he's way more aggressive off the bench when there's less guys.
01:10So we want to see that.
01:11But for me, I'm going with Jackson Hayes.
01:14Yeah, he did.
01:14You know, no Aiden, no Cleaver.
01:16He's going to continue to step up.
01:17He thrives.
01:18Just showing maturity.
01:20Hopefully he stays out of foul trouble.
01:22But all he has to do is set good screens and roll.
01:24And that's the result of it.
01:2619-5.
01:26He probably can get a double-double tonight.
01:28Go to live 14-12 in, you know, in like 10 or 11 rebounds.
01:33So, yeah, if he does what he's supposed to do, it'll make it easy.
01:35Especially with Austin and Luka.
01:36Like, they're going to make the game easier for him.
01:38Mad Dog, who you got tonight, baby?
01:39Luke Kennard, James.
01:40Do you remember during that three-game losing streak?
01:42And Luke Kennard wasn't getting any three-point attempts.
01:45And everyone wanted him to be more aggressive.
01:47He's 11 for 18 in his last four games.
01:51He's also had a couple buckets off the dribble.
01:54Tonight they're going to need double digits from him.
01:55Since he's a Laker now, Tar Heo's going to let you slide with that game.
01:58Yeah, I'm taking the Dookie.
01:59All right.
01:59Head down, down.
02:00Billy Mack, let's do that.
02:01Let's go.
02:02Let's go, Billy Mack.
02:03Yeah, let's go, downtown Los Angeles.
02:06You're looking at a crypto.com arena.
02:08As always, Spectrum Sportsnet is proud to present the NBA.
02:12Tonight, for the first time this season, the Lakers take on the Indiana Pacers.
02:20Hello again, everybody, and welcome to the three-game winning streak over.
02:24Close game, but again, Denver prevailed last night, I should say.
02:30It's a tough back-to-back.
02:31And the Lakers have to try to bounce back without LeBron tonight.
02:34Yeah, it is a tough back-to-back, but you've got to let go of last night's game and focus
02:39on the Indiana Pacers.
02:40You mentioned no LeBron, so that means that other players would have to step it up a little
02:44bit more.
02:45Luka, one of those, he can score seemingly at will.
02:48He had 27-11 last night.
02:51Tonight, he might need to have 40.
02:53Somebody has to make up some of the absence of LeBron, and he is more than capable of
02:58doing just that.
03:00And then there's Jackson Hayes.
03:02He's going to be in the starting lineup tonight, especially after that performance in the loss
03:06last night, where he had 19 points and made eight out of 10.
03:10Most of those, obviously, his dunks attempt on the loves, but he attacks the rim on the
03:16Dodds as well as any Laker on this team.
03:18Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
03:20Remember, the Pacers were in the NBA Finals last year, had a chance in Game 7.
03:24Tyrese Halliburton went down.
03:25He's not playing at all this year.
03:27They actually thought they were going to be better than they are, and right now, they're
03:30just thinking about the lottery, but they do have Pascal Siakam, who's an all-star.
03:34Everybody thought they were going to be better than what they are this year.
03:37It's really a sad commentary that they would be this far under after being in the Finals
03:42last season.
03:43You mentioned Siakam, tough cover.
03:45He's got a lot of unorthodox moves.
03:47He averages 24 on the year.
03:50Again, one of those that's been out of the lineup because of some injuries and things,
03:55but he's back now.
03:56Look for him to be their focal point.
03:58And then Andrew Nembhardt, one of those tough guards, man.
04:01He just brings it to you all the time.
04:03Defensively, he gets into you, and offensively, averaging 17 on the season.
04:08So, this is not going to be as easy a game, in my estimation, as the Lakers may think.
04:13They better play and play hard.
04:15Should be a fun game tonight.
04:16Again, first time this year.
04:18Pacers, the Lakers, trying to get back in the winning column.
04:21We got it for you when we come back after this.
04:29They're single-season all-time.
04:31Kobe up there at 35.4.
04:33Elgin twice over 34.
04:35And Luka Doncic fourth at 32.3 points per game.
04:41And he's the only player averaging higher than eight assists.
04:44So, not only is he getting buckets, he is sharing the wealth.
04:46Dishing it out.
04:47He's a rebounder, too, Peter.
04:48Yes.
04:49He does it all, man.
04:50He's a true triple-double guy, Danny.
04:52Yeah.
04:53Him and Jokic, not many guys can do it.
04:55But just that feat alone, I mean, seeing how many Kobe averaged back in that time.
05:00Like, 35 back then.
05:01It's like 42 now.
05:03I know, right?
05:03Yeah.
05:04So, you know, the three ball has been shot a lot more.
05:07They get to the free-throw line a lot easier, too.
05:10But, yeah, Luka's.
05:12Do we see a Luka 20-point first quarter?
05:14We haven't seen one of those in a while.
05:15I fully expect that we'll have a really good, you know, Luka first half.
05:18Yeah.
05:19And I hope so, anyway.
05:20So, you get him out, you get him in an hour, then you give a really good lead.
05:23But get your 26 in the first half.
05:25Get a little seven assists.
05:27Like, you know, his first halves have been most people's great games.
05:31So, we're going to see that if they want to make a statement.
05:34Big game, it's a cheap day for you.
05:35Why don't you order something good to eat?
05:36We'll see you at halftime.
05:37Yeah, it's Friday, man.
05:38Give me some fried little burgers.
05:40In and out.
05:41Lakers are with us.
05:45Let's get it going.
05:46Lakers looking for their 38th win of the year.
05:49No LeBron tonight in the starting lineup.
05:52Rui steps right in.
05:53No Aiton.
05:54So, it's Jax who had a really good game last night.
05:57Both ends of the floor.
05:58Former Laker.
05:59Jay Huff is in the middle.
06:01What a find he is.
06:03Of course, who knows how long he'll be the man in the middle.
06:06Well, with Avica Zubac now on the roster, but has yet to play.
06:10Lexus Keyes for the game.
06:11And, Stu.
06:12Well, Keyes to the game tonight.
06:13This team is struggling.
06:14They only average about 108 points a game, or 111.
06:17So, hold them under whatever they average.
06:19Don't let them get to that point.
06:22Heavy minutes for Jackson Hayes.
06:23He's got to stay out of foul trouble.
06:25Stay on the floor.
06:26Make this team be what they want to be with their lobs and things of that nature.
06:30The bench contributions tonight.
06:32Well, Lakers are short on the bench.
06:34Two of the guys that normally come off the bench are in the starting lineup.
06:37So, whoever comes in off the bench for the Lakers, let's produce.
06:41Michael Trudell, let's go.
06:43Tell me.
06:43Update me on all the injured Lakers.
06:45Just quickly, right?
06:47So, it's mostly good news.
06:49Just in that, yes, LeBron and Aiton specifically going to miss tonight's game.
06:52But LeBron expected to be able to return.
06:54He landed on that elbow, banged up.
06:55But he's got some other things, right, at age 41 that are bothering him.
06:59But, again, it seems minor.
07:01He should be back on Sunday.
07:02Then DeAndre Aiton, he was out here warming up earlier.
07:05We knew he was going to be out, but a good sign that he was on the court.
07:08He's listed as day-to-day, so the chance that he could return on Sunday as well.
07:11And then Maxi Kliba just had a quick scan of his back.
07:14Everything looked pretty good.
07:16So, also day-to-day.
07:17So, nothing major for any of the three.
07:18Hopefully, they'll be back soon.
07:19In the meantime, let's see how Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves play together.
07:23Remember how well they started this season as LeBron was still on the injured list those first 15 or so
07:30games.
07:30And just see kind of if Austin could get unlocked a little bit with the additional usage tonight.
07:35Highest scoring duo in the NBA for a long time.
07:39And, yeah, they were cooking early in the season.
07:42Will we have a repeat performance?
07:44They're coming off of that heartbreaking loss last night in Denver.
07:48Once again, they were in the game against the Nuggets and couldn't prevail at the end.
07:54Looking for the dunk to start the game.
07:56And Jay Huff was back there to break it up.
07:58Yeah, Jay Huff read that play.
08:00He knew what they like to do off of that screen, and he was there to stop it.
08:03Huff for three.
08:03Boy, he'll play well on both ends of the floor.
08:06I'll tell you what.
08:07He played, what, a handful of games for the Lakers?
08:10But he is a mainstay right now in Indiana.
08:12I'm trying to figure out how many dunks Jay is going to get tonight.
08:21He's going to get more looks again tonight.
08:24He's back in the top seven in the NBA as far as three-point shooting after a good effort last
08:29evening.
08:31In the midst of a road trip, the Pacers, they still got two more.
08:35After this, that was a brick, was it not?
08:38Wow, yeah.
08:38Yeah, we heard that one.
08:40Now for the free throw line, that's much better.
08:43That's how you follow up your brick.
08:45That's Andrew Nembhard.
08:47Of course, went to Gonzaga for a couple of years.
08:49Actually played with Drew Timmy of the Lakers with the Zags.
08:55Drew Timmy, the all-time leading scorer in that school.
08:58Bounced out of Hayes.
09:00Kick it.
09:01Out to a wide-open Luka.
09:03The Don is on the board.
09:05That might be the first driving kick I've seen from Jackson Hayes in a while.
09:09Good stuff.
09:10Brimming with confidence.
09:12Overflowing with confidence.
09:14Right now, Jackson Hayes.
09:15He's directing traffic on defense right now on this end of the floor.
09:20See, Jakob.
09:21Looks like the Lakers are in a zone here.
09:24Out now to Jairus Walker.
09:25He's going to try a triple.
09:27Rebound right into the hands of Adonchich.
09:31Luka looks to attack.
09:32Goes into a bit of a dance out on top.
09:34There's that step back from 17 feet.
09:38Rebound's going to be taken by number 23.
09:39That's Aaron Neesmith.
09:42He's now the trailer.
09:44And he comes in.
09:45And a foul will be called.
09:48All right.
09:49J.J. Redick and the Lakers.
09:51Well, they lost in the clutch for just the sixth time all year.
09:55Last night, they have won 17 times.
09:58And they still have not had a four-game winning streak in forever since November.
10:06Driving over Jackson Hayes.
10:08Tough shot that time.
10:10And it's knocked down by Neesmith.
10:12Neesmith, he recognized that Jackson Hayes was going to go up to try to block it.
10:16So he had fair warning to LV.
10:19And Neesmith, one of those guys, he's been bothered by an ankle and a back.
10:21He's got some issues.
10:23And they take it away with them hard.
10:25He's going to challenge Reeves.
10:26And he scores.
10:28Now, flat-angle passes.
10:30And you've heard me talk about those a lot.
10:32When you're exchanging guard to guard, your angle for pass, he has to be better.
10:36Now, Rui's got his second field goal, Stu.
10:39That flat-angled shot from straight away.
10:42Here comes Siakam.
10:43Remember, many years up in Toronto.
10:45And that's nothing but that from mid-range.
10:48Now, both teams scoring seemingly at wheels.
10:52So, again, we've got a lot of game left.
10:54Some team may decide there's two ends to the floor.
10:57Now, Siakam came back and scored 20-plus against the Clippers that were sitting out a bunch with an injured
11:02wrist.
11:04Rebound Jay Huff.
11:05He's tied up for a moment, but then muscles it away from Reeves.
11:09Pacers, they've only won 15.
11:11They won 52 last year.
11:14And, as mentioned, went to the finals game seven.
11:16Good pass by Huff.
11:18Baseline move.
11:19Foul, Lakers.
11:19Yeah, good recovery, though, by Marcus Smart.
11:22He does pick up the foul, I believe.
11:24But on the drive, when they try to get the layup, Marcus came back in and got a part of
11:29the body.
11:30Well, dead last in offensive efficiency.
11:34They are challenged, obviously.
11:37Rick Carlisle, been around 24 years as an NBA head coach.
11:42Look at this.
11:44And there's a dunk by Huff.
11:47And that's one.
11:48He's probably going to end up with about five.
11:50That could have been one of our keys of the game.
11:52Old Jay Huff under a handful of dunks.
11:56Bouncing now to Rui.
11:58We have yet to play four minutes.
12:00First quarter here from Los Angeles.
12:03Good catch that time by Jax.
12:05Had a little steam on it.
12:06Taken out by AR.
12:08Reeves launches.
12:09Off target.
12:11And Huff controls it.
12:12Jay Huff was a national champion at Virginia, where he's there for four years.
12:17Oh, down goes Reeves.
12:19Ball spins around and comes out.
12:21Motorcycle and a motor drone.
12:23Austin can't figure out why the whistle didn't sound.
12:27Not a whole lot of whistles yet here in this game.
12:29Smart.
12:30Bounce.
12:30They swing it.
12:32Luca.
12:32Three.
12:33Yes, sir!
12:35What magic!
12:36When you go, when I see four quick passes around the perimeter, I really like it because
12:40it really makes the defense shift quite a bit.
12:43Now, last time these two teams saw each other, remember, it was the LeBron tippin' on the
12:47miss by Luca for the game winner.
12:49Here's a block underneath.
12:52Luca had 34 in that game.
12:54A thriller.
12:55Lakers swept the season series last year.
12:58Oh, Marcus was going behind his back then just stumbled down.
13:01Now it's a five-on-four the other way.
13:04Power play time for the Pacers.
13:07Lakers can break.
13:08Leaking out.
13:09He actually never came all the way back to the smart.
13:11He can't hit the three-four.
13:12He had a couple of good looks last night, didn't he?
13:15Yeah, they had a couple down the stretch that obviously didn't fall.
13:19Yeah.
13:20They were open.
13:21Here is Siakam underneath.
13:23They're going to keep going down.
13:24It's end-to-end right now.
13:26Oh, Reeves goes right around Jay Huff, who then recovers.
13:32Down goes Reeves again.
13:34Two-on-one.
13:35Stolen by Luca, who wants it.
13:37Lakers do.
13:38Dodgich all the way.
13:39Scores!
13:40Luca going from the defensive side to the offensive side.
13:45Right over top of Jay Huff.
13:46At the other end, they lose Siakam.
13:49They were slow getting back, and we've got a timeout.
13:52And deserve a timeout as well, as the Lakers were very negligent getting back that time.
13:59But the Lakers, down by two after the steal by Luca, taking the distance.
14:04And Jay Huff is a pretty good rim protector, but Luca says, protect this.
14:10He has Michael Michaels there from Slades of Glory.
14:14That's Will Ferrell, chilling, row one, where he usually resides.
14:20All right, it's time to lock in, presented by PrizePix.
14:23Let's check on some of tonight's featured squares for the Pacers.
14:27Jarris Walker with a more or less of seven rebounds for the Lake Show.
14:32Rui with a more or less of 11.5 points.
14:36Get in on the action on the PrizePix app, now available in California.
14:42Let's see if this timeout settles the Lakers down a little bit on the defensive side.
14:46Because so far, the Pacers have pretty much going where they want to go.
14:50And that's not what you want to do defensively.
14:52Lakers with the basketball.
14:54They're down by two.
14:57And they had that three-game winning streak snapped just last night.
15:00Up to get it as Rui's in the corner.
15:02Still plenty of time on the clock, but he's sort of boxed in there.
15:06Now he's going to try a baseline jump shot a la LeBron from there.
15:10Now it's going to be taken by Siakam into the front court.
15:13Corner jumper.
15:14Reap side rebound.
15:16Jay Huff just wanted it more than blew a layup.
15:19Boy, he shot that hard from right underneath.
15:21I can't understand how he did that.
15:23I mean, seriously, he got a nice offensive rebound.
15:26But when he took it back up against a much shorter defender,
15:30like he didn't even draw iron.
15:33The Pacers will have it.
15:34By the way, the Pacers tied with Brooklyn for the second-worst record in the NBA.
15:40They are sitting right now at 15-47.
15:43They have lost seven games in a row, Indiana.
15:48Brooklyn, by the way, has lost ten in a row.
15:52They bring Toppin into the game.
15:54So now another guy you have to keep off the glass because he is a high-fly act.
15:59Yeah, Obie's been hampered by injuries.
16:02He had a scoreless effort in their last game against the Clippers.
16:05Slam dunk champ, remember, back in 2022.
16:08Fly by Hayes.
16:10Huff all the way.
16:10Score it.
16:11Boy, he's made some good moves.
16:13Yeah, Jackson Hayes ran him off the three-point shot.
16:16But at the other end, rim running, and they steal it away from Hayes.
16:21Remember, the Lakers are shorthanded with Biggs tonight.
16:24No Aiton, no Kleba all the way.
16:26Could be an offensive foul.
16:28It is!
16:31Boy, Austin Reeves, that's the second time already he's been on the floor both times.
16:37The first time he didn't get the whistle.
16:39This time he does.
16:40Stands in, and he almost got jumped over, but made contact, and offensive foul was goal.
16:46Our officials tonight.
16:47Scott Foster recognize him.
16:50Carl Lane and Nate Green are a trio tonight with the whistles.
16:56First of five in a row at home.
17:00And after tonight, in this 11-game stretch, a whole bunch of teams that are going to be going to
17:06the playoffs center at 500 or better.
17:09How it goes.
17:10It doesn't go.
17:13Again, two defenders come after Luka, and he somehow gets the contact or the whistle, despite the contact, and has
17:22a shot at a basket.
17:24In the next 11, the only ones that the Lakers are going to see that aren't going to go to
17:28the playoffs are Chicago and this Indiana team again.
17:32When they go and meet them on the road, that'll be the final game of that 11-day, six-game
17:37trip.
17:37How about this right now from Jerk in the Box.
17:41Hot Ness is back with spicy jalapenos, onion rings, and gooey pepper jack cheese.
17:45Welcome to Jerk in the Box.
17:49Luka knocks down the first as Jackson Hayes heads to the sideline.
17:54Drew Timmy into the game at center.
17:56He's going to get minutes, obviously, tonight.
17:59Also into the game, Micah Potter.
18:01He wears number 11.
18:03Ben Shepard, number 26.
18:06So the Lakers have Kennard, Reeves, Timmy, Rui, and Luka.
18:11Missed free throw.
18:12That's what killed the Lakers last night.
18:15Ton of free throws for Denver.
18:17They were, what, a minus 18?
18:19That's the free throw line.
18:21And the whole idea is to play defense without fouling.
18:23And they did not do that.
18:24Everything else was pretty much even.
18:27Here's a shot on his way, mid-range.
18:29Oh, hit the boards hard that time.
18:32But Drew Timmy, give him credit.
18:34He was aggressive that he went to get that basketball.
18:39Luka goes around one, confronts another, can't score.
18:43Got it right there, hanging on the rim.
18:48Remember, Luka is one technical away from being suspended.
18:52He's got 15 on the year.
18:55He will have to behave himself.
18:57Yeah, Andrew Nimhart, though, that time just found an open alley
19:00and really took advantage of him.
19:02Rui, good ball.
19:03He's going to go to the rim and throw it down.
19:05And one after the dunk.
19:08What a silly foul by Topton.
19:09He got faked out.
19:11He ran out, not under control.
19:13Rui went right by him.
19:15And then with the right arm, he pushes it.
19:18Rui should have just conceded the basket.
19:21As a result, three-point opportunity.
19:25Now, Indiana, if they finish in the bottom four,
19:29they get to keep their draft pick.
19:32Otherwise, there's a scenario where a few picks in.
19:35And the Clippers will get it.
19:38So they've got a whole lot of incentive to be in the bottom four.
19:41And they're pretty comfortably in it right now, to be honest.
19:46Walker travels.
19:48Whoa.
19:49Stu said he traveled.
19:50I said nearly traveled.
19:51You might be right.
19:52Yeah, I think he may have anchored that foot, though, but did it really look like he went up on
19:57his toes.
19:57Maybe I saw some space.
19:59He'd get a piece of paper under it, but the officials don't agree.
20:02Well, the Lakers are down by four.
20:05Remember, they got off to a horrible start last night.
20:0711-0.
20:09Never led in the game.
20:11Had a chance to tie late.
20:13Reeves.
20:14That's an air ball.
20:15Out of bounds.
20:17That's a bit of a surprise, obviously.
20:19Jake LaRabia and Jared Vanderbilt in for Los Angeles.
20:23Out goes Austin Reeves and Rui Hachimura.
20:26As the Pacers have a four-point lead.
20:30Zhu on the bench for the Indiana Pacers.
20:33He made his way back to his Clipper Arena the other night.
20:37They still love him over there.
20:40Laker fans, they enjoyed him when he was here.
20:42I'll tell you what.
20:43Zoubalaka.
20:44He might play before the season's out.
20:47That's what Rick Carlisle said.
20:48He has not been shut down for the season.
20:51Baseline short.
20:53And Vando, just in the game, gets the rebound.
20:56The Lakers went to a zone and gave up an offensive rebound.
20:59Bernard, with the right hand, scores.
21:01He's having a career year from two-point range.
21:11Shepard missed the three.
21:14And Luka deliberately bringing it in.
21:17He's in no rush.
21:20Quarterbacking.
21:21He's eyeing the defense right in front of him.
21:23Trying to lose Walker.
21:24Bumps into him.
21:25He's underneath one way.
21:27Then the other.
21:28Then the foul.
21:29Boy, you've got to be really patient to try to guard that guy.
21:34Wow.
21:34It's amazing how many teams will leave their defender out on an island
21:37with Luka.
21:39And Luka is a very tough cover as he gets fouled on that play.
21:43Back to downtown Los Angeles.
21:45Lakers trailing 21-19.
21:47But free throws coming for Luka Doncic.
21:50And speaking of Luka Doncic, time for our New Balance fearless approach.
21:56How about Luka on the second night of a back-to-back?
21:59You see the six games.
22:00Almost 33 points.
22:02Efficient from the field and from three.
22:04The assist there as well.
22:05You know, Bill and Stu, some players do not take the bait in terms of, oh, it's a back-to
22:10-back.
22:12Fatigued, whatever.
22:12Luka doesn't.
22:13Luka comes out and he plays.
22:14That's part of his job.
22:16You saw what he did last night against the Nuggets.
22:17And expect his numbers to be right around what we just showed the averages to be on that
22:21second night of a back-to-back.
22:22Yeah, I mean, if you're a professional, I mean, you shouldn't really complain about it
22:25back-to-back.
22:26I mean, you should be in good shape.
22:28You play the game every night or every day to begin with.
22:31I mean, just go out and play.
22:33Don't use that as some kind of an excuse to have a bad night's day.
22:37Just go out and play.
22:38Yeah, last night he shot four free throws, made two.
22:41You saw the 27 points.
22:42Most boards, though, that he had last night since the 1st of February.
22:47Four straight games, though.
22:49Under 30 for Luka.
22:50He is still number one in the scoring.
22:54But SGA is inching ever closer in that race.
22:58He notched his 29th double-double.
23:01And both of those guys and everybody else, for that matter, would give that title away
23:06in a heartbeat for the other title.
23:09Again, Lakers looking to avoid the play.
23:12And we've got five weeks to go in the regular season.
23:14Currently sixth.
23:16Two full up on Phoenix, who's in seven.
23:18And a game-and-a-half back of both Denver and Houston.
23:23Busy time for the Lakers.
23:24Busy month here in March.
23:26McConnell all the way out of the scoop.
23:28Another rebound for Doncic.
23:30That's his fourth already.
23:3211 points.
23:33On its way for three.
23:35Luka Magic strikes again.
23:38He really pushed it up the floor that time.
23:40Forced a defender to get on his heels and had a wide-open look.
23:44We've got to remind you, best first-quarter scorer in the NBA.
23:48Certainly a tone setter.
23:5014 points already in the first 10 minutes.
23:55Siakam having a bit of trouble.
23:57Going to get it right back, though.
23:58And he'll fire up a three.
24:00Rebound taken by Vando.
24:02Lakers are up by three.
24:03We've had three lead changes so far here in the first quarter.
24:07Luka really taking charge now.
24:09On its way again.
24:11String music.
24:12When he gets it going, you've got a real issue if you're defending him.
24:16You can't bite on anything he's giving you going to the rim.
24:20You want him going into traffic.
24:22Lakers got to shore up second-chance points on this end.
24:25This is not a great rebounding team, especially on the offensive end.
24:29But they already have six second-chance points to none for the Lakers
24:33as McConnell lays it in reverse style.
24:35And McConnell's one of those real pesty-type players.
24:39He gets after you defensively and somehow always gets into the paint.
24:43Took that little jumper.
24:45TJ from U of A, 11th year.
24:47Remember, he went undrafted.
24:48Uh-oh!
24:49When you've got the three-pointer guys cooking like that,
24:53it's trouble for the opposition.
24:55Especially when one of them is the leading percentage shooter in the league.
24:59Trying to win that crowd for the third time.
25:02Second all-time percentage-wise.
25:05There's Luke Kennard.
25:09Trying to split the defense.
25:11Can't rebound.
25:12Put up and in.
25:13By Kobe Brown.
25:16One of four Kobe's to ever play in the NBA.
25:20And, of course, the icon of them all, Mr. Bryant.
25:26Doncic.
25:29Right at the elbow.
25:31Again.
25:32Again.
25:34Oh, Luke's great.
25:36He's got 19 first-quarter points.
25:3818-6 run.
25:42Siakam.
25:44Bumps right into Drew Timmy.
25:47Again, a tip taken by the Lakers.
25:48So, the Lakers up by seven with the basketball.
25:51Shot clock is four ahead of the game clock.
25:55As we wind down in quarter number one.
25:59Luka.
26:01Been very busy.
26:0219-4-3 already.
26:05He's going to break the 20-point mark again here in the first quarter.
26:1122 for Luka.
26:13He's made five for five from beyond the arc.
26:17And 1.3 remaining with the ball out of bounds.
26:21And, again, defensively, the defender was there.
26:24I mean, he's just making shots.
26:26That's what this league is all about.
26:27Putting the ball in the basket.
26:29And, right now, nobody's doing it better than Luka.
26:33As good a first quarter, obviously, as we've seen this year.
26:37T.J. and he share a laugh, I'm sure.
26:41T.J. is saying, come on, man.
26:42Calm down a little bit.
26:4318-4 the run.
26:46T.J. is saying, pick on somebody your own size.
26:47Yeah, or something like that.
26:48He's picking on everybody.
26:50That's right.
26:50He's giving everybody a shot.
26:51Lob underneath.
26:52What an out-of-bounds play.
26:53And horrible defense by the Lakers.
26:55Yeah.
26:56More than the latter.
26:57Yeah.
26:59Lakers completely fell asleep.
27:02But what a quarter for Luka.
27:05I mean, when you think about offense, he took nine shots.
27:09Five of them from behind the arc.
27:11Made all five of those shots.
27:13Seven out of nine.
27:14Ends up with 22 to give the Lakers the eight-point lead.
27:20Lakers basketball is being brought to you by Morongo Casino Resort and Spa.
27:24Listen, 90 minutes from wherever you are.
27:28Mmm, good times.
27:32And the pair in Santa Monica.
27:34Let's go across town to downtown.
27:36Well, Luka had a hand in 10 of the 12 Laker baskets in the first quarter.
27:43Made seven.
27:44Assisted on three.
27:45So, seven out of the 12 field goals.
27:47Responsible.
27:48Luka directly.
27:49And you see their fifth time this year when he's had 20 or more in the quarter.
27:53Yeah.
27:53That's just amazing that he's so capable of doing that on a consistent basis.
27:59And what did I say?
28:00He's on a string.
28:01Three in a row.
28:01Make it four straight under 30.
28:03He could get there by halftime.
28:05As A.R. gets blocked going to the rim.
28:08Threes made in this game.
28:09Sorry, Stu.
28:10Go ahead.
28:10I was going to say, A.R. usually cuts off the angle for the shot blockers.
28:14This time, he gets forced away from the basket and gives the shot blocker all the angle to make the
28:19play.
28:20Lakers 7-1 in three-pointers made already in this game.
28:24Kennard no.
28:25Tap no.
28:25Bando doing work.
28:26He's underneath.
28:27Once, twice.
28:28Oh, Jay Hoff.
28:30That's a stuck block right there.
28:32That was really a nice defensive play by Jay.
28:35Didn't go for any of the upfakes.
28:37And when Manny decided to go ahead and take it up, there was Jay Hoff to say, Oh, no.
28:44Second in the league in blocked shots to Wemby.
28:49And for Jay Hoff, that's block number 119.
28:56Huff has started 13 of their last 14 games.
29:00That's tap.
29:01Hustle play by McConnell.
29:03He takes a dive and he says, I'm okay.
29:05You guys just go.
29:07Now he's hustling back.
29:09He was giving them the hand signals.
29:12That's good hustle play.
29:14Very nice.
29:16Jay Coravia picks up the foul.
29:18Jackson seemed like he was out of control, but did get fouled.
29:21Another look at that play you're talking about is McConnell saves it.
29:24And then over the first row under the basket, look at this.
29:27Listen, he goes head over heels.
29:30Then he waves to his teammates.
29:31Go ahead.
29:32I'm good.
29:32I'm good.
29:32I'm totally good.
29:35Free throw time.
29:37That's Quentin Jackson who knocks it down.
29:40All right.
29:40For today's game, the Lakers are proud to partner in mental health awareness with the L.A.
29:44County Department of Mental Health.
29:46You can receive the support you need 24-7 by visiting dmh.lacounty.gov.
29:55Cut down to a six-point lead here after the Lakers had a ten-point advantage.
29:59Indiana's biggest lead was five early on in this game.
30:04Reeves.
30:05Kennard was going down the middle.
30:07Didn't opt to give it to him.
30:08Instead, Vando open.
30:10Jake Corner.
30:11He's got to get his air ball.
30:12Yeah, he's got to get his shot going.
30:14His confidence is really shot.
30:16As you were saying last night, it's in his head right now.
30:18Yeah, it really is.
30:20McConnell in deep.
30:22Great pass.
30:23Good dive.
30:23And the score.
30:26Wow.
30:26Quick 6-0 run here by the Pacers.
30:34Reeves right back to LaRavia.
30:38Austin.
30:39Oh, and a foul's going to be called.
30:41Oh, and that's behind the arc, isn't it?
30:42Yeah, I think we got three free throws.
30:44Yeah, foul's on Jackson.
30:47And Reeves already waiting at the free throw line.
30:50You see Austin shaking that right hand a bit.
30:55Just a little bit more on Jake.
30:57The struggles he's going through.
30:58He don't want to belabor it.
30:59But he's now one for nine in the month of March from three.
31:04Still the team leader in steals.
31:07So he's certainly making his presence known at the other end of the floor.
31:11Laker fans, tacos on the line.
31:13As always, if the Lakers win,
31:15you're going to score a couple of free tacos with a drink purchased from Jug in the Box tomorrow.
31:22Lakers will have the day off tomorrow.
31:23And the Knicks, the New York Knicks, will be in town Sunday afternoon.
31:29Right here.
31:30Jackson Hayes returns to the lineup.
31:32Probably trying to combat the size of Jay Huff,
31:35who had quite a size advantage while he's in there without Jackson.
31:39If you joined us late, no LeBron.
31:42The elbow injury last night, but not serious.
31:45Mike was reporting that to us.
31:47DeAndre Ayton had a little bit of a knee flare-up.
31:50And Maxi Kleba is still out.
31:53So a couple of bigs and LeBron unavailable tonight.
31:58They switch Big Little again.
32:00See if they go inside to Huff, but no Huff.
32:03Out on the perimeter.
32:04Now Siakam's got Canard in front of him.
32:07Huff's going to try a three.
32:08That hit the back iron.
32:10Luke Canard, he's thrilled.
32:12Thrilled to be wearing the Lakers across his chest.
32:15Does it don't get any bigger than this?
32:17It truly is showtime when you wear the purple and gold.
32:22Neesmith picks up his second personal foul.
32:25Mark Smart coming back into the game, replacing Luke Canard.
32:30Luke out there for eight minutes and produced five points on two out of three.
32:35Three boards.
32:36A couple of minutes in.
32:38Lakers still searching for field goal number one of the second quarter.
32:43Reeves controlling.
32:44And it gets away.
32:46A dangerous pass.
32:47And they do still.
32:48Little Arabia takes it right back and scores.
32:51Nice ball fake.
32:52I'll take the garbage.
32:52Nice ball fake, though, by Jake.
32:54After he got it back, did a nice ball fake for an easy shot.
32:58Pascal Siakam crosses over.
33:01Count of it goes.
33:02And it goes.
33:03Three-point opportunity for Siakam.
33:07Another look at Jake's play, where he takes it in and almost lost it as they stole it for a
33:13moment.
33:13But it went right back to him.
33:15And then a little subtle ball fake.
33:16And Siakam did the same thing on the other end.
33:20Gets an and one right into the body of Jake.
33:23How good is this guy right here?
33:24Well, since the first of January, he's one of six players to average 24 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
33:33The others, Giannis, Luka, the Joker, Jalen Brown, and Embiid.
33:39It's good company.
33:40Very good company.
33:4339-34.
33:45You mentioned Marcus is in the game.
33:47Gives it into Jacks.
33:49And we're going the other way.
33:51Offensive foul.
33:52That was Austin pushing his man to free himself up.
33:56That's what happens sometimes.
33:58You get a little frustrated with guys bodying you up so much.
34:01See, two-hand push right there.
34:03And all of a sudden, Austin said, hmm, they caught me.
34:07Now, this Pacer team, they've been derailed by injuries.
34:1017 players.
34:12Michigan combined.
34:14316 games.
34:16That's a ton.
34:18Long shot.
34:19Rebound.
34:19Now, that one is kicked inadvertently.
34:21They say play on.
34:23And the Pacers had it.
34:24Now, the Lakers all by his lonesome is Jackson Hayes.
34:31Carlisle takes a timeout.
34:32I know he's going to tell his team, look, when one of their players stays under the basket,
34:38sacrifice your offense, somebody.
34:39Stay back.
34:40Be that lone defender.
34:42When you don't, this is what happens.
34:44Jackson Hayes all alone.
34:46Easy deuce.
34:49SoCal's most trusted mattress store.
34:52And who else for the performance spotlight but one Luka Dunsic.
34:57I mean, what a first quarter Luka enjoyed.
35:0022 points on 7 out of 9 overall.
35:035 for 5 from 3-point land.
35:06And, yes, in his spare time, he had 3 assists.
35:10I mean, he started this game off the way he does a lot of games.
35:14Just setting the tempo early.
35:16So, where Luka, Stu, is 5 for 5, Pacers are 1 for 11 from 3 to start the game.
35:24Ooh.
35:25The Lakers up 41-34.
35:27We're 3 minutes into the second quarter.
35:31Jackson.
35:32McConnell.
35:34Leans in.
35:34Can't score.
35:35Fox out.
35:36And rebound.
35:37That's 6 rebounds already for Vandy.
35:39In, what, 7 minutes.
35:41Forget about being a point-a-minute guy.
35:43The Lakers will take a rebound a minute for him every night of the week.
35:47You get a rebound a minute.
35:49You're doing a great job.
35:51That one is deflected by McConnell.
35:53Not a great pass or decision by Smart.
35:562-on-1.
35:57The transition dunk by Jackson.
36:01Now, the Lakers are, what is that, 6 turnovers already?
36:07To 3 for the Pacers.
36:10That's 7 points off the turnovers for Indiana.
36:15Marcus way out on the low go.
36:18Reeves could have a pick from Huff.
36:20That one is going to be an out-of-bounds kick.
36:23They got 14 on the shot clock.
36:26They get that pass to go through because the Pacers are blitzing screen and rolls with Austin Reeves.
36:33So, everybody's got to be active off the ball.
36:36Again, one of seven games in the NBA.
36:39Currently, by the way, Denver, remember, they were playing the Knicks tonight.
36:44They're down big.
36:45And I mean big in that game in the Mile High City.
36:49Leaning in is Reeves, who scores.
36:53Points in the paint.
36:55Puts the Lakers up by 7 as Luca about to check back in.
37:01Wow, nobody's there.
37:03So, Shepard will let fly.
37:04Nobody there.
37:05Out of position.
37:06I don't know if they were confused what they were in.
37:09Mayan or D or zone.
37:11Then Shepard went to Belmont, not the racetrack.
37:14The University.
37:15Oh!
37:16Jackson!
37:17Two-hand slam dunk!
37:20I said they're blitzing, and he's the guy that's setting the screen, then rolling.
37:25At that time, the lane opened up, and Jackson Hayes says to the Pacers,
37:30Didn't you see the slam dunk competition?
37:32I was in it.
37:32So, you know I can elevate a little bit as he takes off from right inside the dotted line,
37:37gets hit, but still converts.
37:40Goes to the line for the end one.
37:43What a game last night for Jackson Hayes.
37:48Huge effort.
37:49Huge effort.
37:49Sees an eye in points.
37:51Ties his Laker high.
37:52Last 12 games.
37:53He's out for nearly 10 a game.
37:55Huff lets it go from the corner.
37:57Another rebound for Vanderbilt.
38:00Dotich.
38:01He confronts Huff.
38:03Backing up a little bit.
38:04Oh, he'll take a very contested three-pointer.
38:08That's a good close by Huff.
38:10Very good.
38:11McConnell.
38:13He was able to run an extra step there.
38:17Obie in the corner.
38:19Short.
38:19He was running the other way.
38:21He had an opportunity maybe to get his own rebound, but they get it anyway.
38:24Then he tried to go down the lane.
38:26He's going to be fouled by Vando.
38:28Oh, I don't know about that one.
38:29And the Lakers will take a look at it.
38:31They'll take a look.
38:32Yeah, I thought Vandy beat him to the spot.
38:35There was contact, but I thought Vandy had already beaten him to the spot.
38:39That's a no call there and play on.
38:44Good recovery there as Vandy's there.
38:47And the Lakers are not going to challenge.
38:50They're going to let it go.
38:51I mean, there's that school of thought that you keep your challenges until the second half
38:57when it could be a vital part of the game, but so many coaches do use them early.
39:04Bounce.
39:05Toppin.
39:06Cup.
39:07Another slam dunk for him.
39:09The weakest part of a zone is in the middle, and they got the ball into the middle and end
39:13up with an easy one.
39:15Shooting.
39:1643% Indiana.
39:18Lakers at 50% here in the second quarter.
39:21Luka, can he get hot again inside the free throw line?
39:26So Doncic gets his first bucket here of the quarter.
39:31Again, he sat out the first one.
39:33Four or five minutes of it.
39:35Nembhard.
39:38Straight away, just inside the top of the key.
39:42Of course, Nembhard has played a part in some game-winning activities for Indiana.
39:49Again, the Lakers have won four out of five against this squad, and both of them last year.
39:55A good move by Reeves, created just enough real estate.
39:59Look how quickly they're in the operational zone.
40:02Obi very quickly.
40:04Front zone.
40:04Nembhard.
40:05He pulled up.
40:06Marcus Smart.
40:07Oh!
40:08Slam dunk champ.
40:09Obi Toppin.
40:10Slam dunk champ.
40:11Show me that one again.
40:14Everybody enjoyed that one.
40:16Woo!
40:17Reverse dunk.
40:19We have one possession game here.
40:21Luka three.
40:23Luka three.
40:23Fresh snow from the outside for Doncic.
40:2827 now for Luka.
40:30He's going to top 30 in this half.
40:33Nembhard.
40:33Down the middle again.
40:35And another spectacular play for the Pacers.
40:39It's just, once the ball seems to be stopped on one side, the weak side defenders are turning
40:45and looking.
40:46The play isn't over.
40:47You've got to continue to D up.
40:49They're diving.
40:49They're getting easy hoops.
40:52Toppins was the best.
40:53Look at that one.
40:54I like that one a lot.
40:56And the last one, just a quick dive for the easy hoop.
41:01The Lakers, they've made eight out of 14.
41:04Thank you, Luka, who has already converted six out of seven.
41:09And that was the quick start by the Lakers that put them in a position like that.
41:14But led by Luka, who has 27 points overall.
41:20Eight Laker threes, two for the Pacers.
41:23We've seen eight dunks tonight.
41:26Five for the Pacers and three for the Lake Show.
41:29Back in play.
41:30Kinnard, and there's a foul by Nembhard out on top.
41:34Doncic, let's get you who's on the floor.
41:37For the Lakers, Kinnard, Hayes, Rui, Smart, and Luka.
41:40You've got Toppin, Nembhard, Walker, Shepard, and Huff for Indiana.
41:45You are caught up.
41:48Team fouls.
41:50Four for the Pacers.
41:51Three for the Lakers.
41:52Five, 12 remaining.
41:54Second quarter.
41:56Doncic.
41:57Lakers currently in sixth in the West.
42:01Doncic to beat the clock.
42:03They have no shot.
42:04That's going to be a turnover.
42:06That's a good defensive possession, obviously, by the Pacers.
42:10They took it out of Luka's hands once, and by the time they got it back to him,
42:14the shot clock was not his friend.
42:16They are rated 22nd defensively this year.
42:20Pacers, again, they lost in the NBA Finals in seven games.
42:26Walker.
42:27Huh.
42:28He's open.
42:30Walker took that right away from Luka for a moment.
42:34Just because you're open doesn't necessarily mean you take the shot.
42:38Depends on where you are.
42:39Yeah, Doncic bumped into Walker.
42:41He'll shoot it.
42:42Big time.
42:43Not there.
42:43Front of the rim.
42:44Then the backboard.
42:45Once again, it's Toppin.
42:47Lakers have eight three-pointers and only two, but the Lakers are only up by four.
42:51Short.
42:54Strange math.
42:56Nembhardt, a little on big.
42:59Rise and fire.
43:00Short again.
43:01Oh, Marcus Smart went out of the air for the Lake Show.
43:05Only because Toppin mistimed his jump.
43:08Lakers a plus one in rebounds.
43:10Smart can't hit, so all of a sudden, the Lakers missing some shots.
43:14It's not nearly as efficient here in the second quarter as they were in the first when Luka was on
43:18fire.
43:20Walker.
43:21Huffs in the lane a long time, but he gets it and shoots it just like he should have.
43:24Well, he was being guarded by Luka, so anytime you switch that big little, you're giving up quite an advantage.
43:31Now, two players in double digits.
43:33Luka, 27.
43:34Jay Huff with 11.
43:37Two-point game.
43:38Kennard, corner.
43:40That's what he gets paid for.
43:41And that's what he does.
43:43Exactly right.
43:46Kennard.
43:49He opens up a five-point advantage.
43:52Jairus Walker.
43:53Hoppin was there, but Kennard stepped in front of it.
43:55Yeah, that was Luka that tapped the ball.
43:57Well, Kennard comes back the other side, looking to see if anybody's running down the lane.
44:03Going to lob it to Jackson Hayes, who lays it up and in.
44:08Time out.
44:09Good play by Luke Kennard.
44:11He's working one-on-one against a bigger guy, so he pulls it out and recognizes that Jackson Hayes has
44:17a shorter opponent on him
44:18and just throws it in, and Jackson Hayes with almost a flat-footed layup, and the Lakers go up 50.
44:25Got a little 5-0 run going right now, and it's back to seven points.
44:29Yeah, but they've got to just get their defense back in order again.
44:33There have been so many different plays where the Lakers seemingly weren't on the same page when they were on
44:38the floor.
44:39Some thought they were in man, some think they're in zone, and wide-open people floating around.
44:44Lakers trying to take care of their own house.
44:46Lakers, they're one of six teams in the NBA that has a better record on the road.
44:54By the way, the Knicks are here Sunday.
44:56Last we heard, they were up by 40-40 in Denver with a minute to play.
45:03Nembhard.
45:04They will be ready on Sunday.
45:07Nembhard, long distance.
45:08That's an air ball.
45:10Good job of moving his feet by Luke Kennard.
45:13Nembhard tried to get him out of position, but Luke did a really good job of leveling him off
45:18and then forcing him to take the air ball.
45:21By the way, they wound up winning, the Knicks did, by 39.
45:24And yes, Joker played.
45:25And Aaron Gordon is back from the injury.
45:29They still got smoked.
45:30Here is Rui, now to the right side.
45:33Marcus Smart's got the three-pointer.
45:35Yet another one to ring up for the Lakers.
45:38And the Lakers go back up by double digits.
45:42Just like that, taking charge again.
45:45Playing keep-away on the perimeter.
45:47Andrew Nembhard trying to work on Drew Timmy.
45:50And he falls back and scores.
45:53So, a couple of guys from Gonzaga going at each other right there.
45:57The third free-pointer line jumper that Nembhard has made.
46:02Kennard picks up his dribble, needs help.
46:04Finds Drew.
46:06Luke, now to the open man.
46:07Smart.
46:08Going to try it again.
46:08Got it again!
46:10Two in a row!
46:11In the corner!
46:12I mean, he was camped out in that corner.
46:15He set up a little bivouac and was just waiting for it.
46:19Underneath, that hangs on the rim.
46:23Now, Luka bringing it up.
46:24Lakers now with a nice charge.
46:26They're up 62-51 and the basketball.
46:29Minute 45 remaining in the half.
46:31Come on, it goes!
46:31It doesn't go, and Luka's shooting free throws in a moment.
46:35And again, splitting two defenders.
46:37When you're going to double-team, you've got to just make sure the offensive guy can step between you.
46:42If you have to get shoulder-to-shoulder, hip-to-hip, that's what you must do.
46:46But you can't let him split the two.
46:49Now, Lakers have shot nine free throws tonight.
46:52We're going to get a break here.
46:54Do we have our challenge?
46:55Yeah, I think so.
46:56I think so.
47:01And the lamp will be lit.
47:05Lamp's lit!
47:06Lamp's lit!
47:08The Green Lantern.
47:101.44 to go.
47:12Oh, here we go, Stu.
47:13This is what they're going to be looking at.
47:15Nismith is there, and he...
47:17Oh, yeah, they may overturn this call because the secondary defender comes in, and that's Siakam.
47:24And is that what they call marginal contact?
47:28All right.
47:28Take a guess.
47:30You want me to take a guess?
47:31Absolutely.
47:31I'm not playing this game.
47:34No wonder your percentage is just one percentage point ahead of mine.
47:37No, you can think about it while I say this.
47:39How about now, a word from Morongo.
47:43Mosin Happy Hour.
47:44Half-priced cocktails, beers, and fights.
47:47Morongo.
47:49Well, what they may call is marginal contact.
47:52When you're the shooter, marginal contact can have a major effect on your shot.
47:57So, if you're in the act of shooting, and you get marginal contact, it can be difficult.
48:03Marginal contact is a major NBA buzzword.
48:07Yeah, it just got invented in the last year or so.
48:12So, Scott Foster and friends.
48:14Of course, they'll be checking with the replay center in Secaucus, New Jersey.
48:21So, it was a little bit of a push.
48:24Well, either way, Luka had options.
48:26I mean, because the guy guarding Luke Kennard came to help, and that's Siakam.
48:30Why would you leave Luke Kennard?
48:34So, Luka could have just passed it, and Kennard would have had a wide-open shot.
48:39This would take it a little bit longer than we expected.
48:43Because they're trying to describe this marginal contact.
48:46Here we go.
48:47After a view.
48:48After a view, it's been determined that the defender made illegal contact with an abrupt hit with his right leg
48:53to Luka's left leg during his shooting motion.
48:55Therefore, this is an unsuccessful challenge.
48:58Luka will shoot two.
48:59They'll be charged a timeout, and they will not be able to challenge subsequent plays.
49:03Wow.
49:04Well, at least the word the marginal didn't come into play.
49:08Illegal was called.
49:10That's illegal.
49:10Yeah.
49:11I understand that word.
49:13Again, we weren't really looking at the legs on that replay, as the officials were.
49:18Luka, free throws.
49:19How about this right now from Nissan?
49:22This Lakers broadcast is brought to you by the Nissan Rogue.
49:26Shop NissanUSA.com.
49:29Luka played in his 500th career NBA game on Thursday.
49:35I say that because LeBron is gaining on Robert Parrish for the most games ever.
49:43He is five back from Parrish.
49:47All time.
49:50Bob Rick Carlyle.
49:52Been around Mike Trudell a long time and a lot to say about Luka.
49:57Yeah, seen a lot of players.
49:58He was asked about Luka Dontras, though, and he said, quote, he's as difficult a player to game plan for
50:03as I've ever seen.
50:04Carlisle went on to say, I don't know that I've ever seen an NBA player that controls the game the
50:08way that he does.
50:11My praise.
50:12My praise.
50:14Carlisle has been known throughout his career as one of the better in-game coaches.
50:20Of course, there's a lot of preparation that takes place.
50:23And that's the most important asset a coach can have.
50:27Your ability to make in-game adjustments.
50:30You think you can have the best game plan going in in the world, but if it's not working, you've
50:36got to adjust.
50:37Rick's got a ring.
50:39There is Nebhardt.
50:42Got a pick outside.
50:44Set by Potter.
50:47Go to what house he's in.
50:50In Hogwarts.
50:52There is.
50:53The ball outside.
50:56Now shot up and right at the buzzer.
50:59Take it by the Lakers and here comes Luka.
51:04Luka.
51:07Doddich.
51:08In and out.
51:10He thought he made that one.
51:12What are you talking about in your backpedal?
51:16Denmark just kind of holding on to it.
51:19Now to the right wing side, it goes.
51:21Down the middle.
51:22Stop.
51:22Shoot.
51:23Short.
51:23Rebound.
51:24Rui's got it.
51:25Takes it away from not only Indiana, but from his teammates.
51:30All right.
51:30Under a minute to play.
51:31Remember, we're sending it back to the studio in a matter of moments.
51:34With a halftime report.
51:3612 to shoot.
51:3740 on the game clock.
51:39Behind the back goes Austin.
51:41He's in very deep.
51:42Did not get the fortunate bounce.
51:46Got a very good look at it, though.
51:4913 points.
51:50Boy, the Lakers were on a 13-2 run.
51:57Pacers.
51:58They're just going to work for the best shot with eight remaining on it.
52:01That rolled around and spun out.
52:03They've got another look at it, though.
52:05They'll get the last shot of the quarter now.
52:06Yeah, they will milk it all the way down.
52:08Shot clock has been put to bed for the quarter.
52:12Nembhard bumps into Timmy.
52:13They're going one-on-one.
52:15Corner.
52:16Siaka.
52:16They left him alone.
52:18Very fortunate.
52:19And the half is over.
52:22Well, after a very slow start, in my estimation, where they allowed Pacers to do what they wanted
52:27to do, the Lakers picked it up a bit.
52:30Here's Mike with J.J.
52:32Yeah, Billy, so, J.J., just first, Luka on the offensive end.
52:35Pretty brilliant.
52:36We've seen some of that before.
52:37But what did you make of the first half from him?
52:39I thought he did a good job being aggressive early.
52:41Obviously, the step-back threes and, you know, making multiple in a row really got our offense going.
52:46Did a better job as the game progressed.
52:48Just a play.
