00:00Let's talk about the big elephant in the room first.
00:03Tigres is not the team that we expected them to be this season.
00:07They're struggling, both on the male and the female side.
00:10What is happening with Tigres for a minute?
00:12When you said elephant in the room,
00:13I thought you were talking about Alex Beard.
00:15Alex Beard, that's so shame.
00:17But Tigres also not performing is a huge elephant in the room.
00:20I mean, they were dominating so much last season.
00:24We were even complaining about the parity within the league.
00:26But now, Monterrey coming off a huge 6-0 win versus San Luis.
00:31This is massive for the club.
00:33You know, they were a strong squad last year,
00:35but it begs the question, is Monterrey the new Tigres?
00:38It seems like the power of Liga MX continues to be
00:42in the north of the country.
00:44The Norteans are responding.
00:48And then we also see the Tigres in their last game
00:51starting to wake up, unfortunately, against Miss Pumitas.
00:55Pumas has never been a protagonist in the female side.
00:59They're trying in the men's side to regain.
01:02They're a tough tie on the women's side.
01:03They're in seventh place right now.
01:05They're putting together a nice little season.
01:08Alex, what was one of the highlights of the last match day for you?
01:13I mean, I think we have to talk about our local team.
01:16Juarez losing 3-0 against Pachuca.
01:18I mean, really giving up an early goal in the first half, an own goal.
01:23I mean, and then in the last second of the game,
01:26Gomez scoring for Pachuca.
01:28I mean, totally flipping the script.
01:30But, you know, I want to bring up that we are seeing a new, you know,
01:33top five in this league, which Kami and I used to talk about last season,
01:37where, like, we would tend to see the same teams
01:40because a lot of money was going towards these teams,
01:42and it stayed the same format.
01:45But now, you know, we have a new variety.
01:48Let's go down the table.
01:49We got Monterrey.
01:50We got Pachuca.
01:52Despuésito, Las Chivas en tercer lugar.
01:55Toluca and America complete the top five.
01:57Then Tigres, Pumas, and Cruz Azul rounding up the top eight.
02:01Let's move on to the bottom of the table.
02:03Let's see who are los más maletas del torneo.
02:06Who is at the bottom, trying to scrape some points.
02:09And not surprisingly, we have Querétaro.
02:11We have Necaxa and San Luis there.
02:14I don't think there's much left on the season for these three teams.
02:18We go back to the same thing, the parity, right?
02:20Like, we see an abyss between the teams that are at the bottom three,
02:24the bottom four, and those who are fighting.
02:26The budget that Monterrey, Pachuca, Tigres, and Guadalajara,
02:32including America, they just don't match, right?
02:35Like, it's hard for the other teams.
02:36It's hard.
02:36It's definitely hard.
02:37But I think we're already seeing improvement from last season.
02:39We know, historically, the women's team don't get nearly the same amount of funding as the men's team.
02:44So I'm happy because I think that, you know, when you look at Liga Mekis,
02:48and you compare it to NWSL, they're just a couple years behind.
02:52But when we look at the growth that the NWSL has had, it's exponential.
02:56It's skyrocketed.
02:57And I expect the same for Liga Mekis fans.
02:59It has to be because the quality of players is amazing.
03:04It is.
03:04We see continually that the best Liga Mekis players, they go to NWSL,
03:09and they make an impact right away.
03:11We have so many Mexican and Latin American players that are right now making a difference.
03:18But let's talk about what is coming up.
03:21Do we feel like Tigres have the calendar in front of them that allows them to make, you know,
03:28a headway into the playoffs?
03:29I mean, listen, it's going to be hard.
03:31I think the biggest thing that we know Tigres struggles with, I think, is the mentality.
03:36We saw them last season when they went into the playoffs struggling against a team like Juarez, right,
03:41who was supposed to be an easy win.
03:42So I think they need to be stronger mentally, especially when they're going to go against these top teams like
03:46Monterrey, Pachuca.
03:48So I think it's all about the mentality because we know they have the power and the force of players
03:53because they have quality players.
