00:11So Shen is a veteran, 36 years old, right shot defenseman.
00:17You know, there's being nice.
00:20I don't think there's a lot left in the tank there.
00:22For me, it seems like he's probably your new seventh defenseman.
00:26I don't anticipate him playing many games.
00:28But what he does in the room, the playoff experience,
00:33I think having that veteran isn't something that should be overlooked.
00:36And also, it just builds depth.
00:39I mean, if you have injuries and you don't want to get into Rochester guys,
00:43you have a guy who's played in the league, who's played playoff games,
00:45and you could throw him in there if you need it.
00:47So I'm not overly focused on what he's going to bring,
00:50because I just want to anticipate he's going to play a ton.
00:53Stanley, on the other hand, is probably, if everything goes well,
00:56going to be one of your top six regulars.
01:02You know, I'm not going to hide it that I don't love it.
01:06It's okay.
01:07You know, he's a big defenseman, 6'7", hits, physical.
01:14You know, if you want a guy who will fight and defend his teammates, that is Stanley.
01:18You know, defensively, there's some good things around the net.
01:22He's good in that regard.
01:24He's obviously very sized, good on the wall.
01:26That helps.
01:28And I think if they're looking to get, you know, more physical and a little bit more,
01:32I don't know if they need more size, but maybe they thought they did,
01:35but on defense, you know, that's what you get there.
01:38But this year he's having one of his best offensive seasons.
01:42So I mean, there's that part of it, but he's also on the trick that free agency,
01:45free agency, you can kind of throw in, well, that might just be a free agency
01:49and kind of saying that you shoot him like 12%, which is very unlike him.
01:54So there's a little bit of offense there, but I don't think he moves well enough
01:59to be that impactful.
02:01He moves good for 6'7", but maybe not what a Lindy Ruff system would want.
02:06And then the passing is really what scares me a little bit.
02:10The exits are not good.
02:12Throughout his career, they have not been good.
02:15But, I mean, this is a guy who's playing right now 20 minutes-ish this season
02:19with the injuries Winnipeg has had.
02:21Coming here, he's probably going to drop down to 13-14.
02:24So if you can shelter him on a third pair role, you probably can get by and be fine.
02:30The good news is if it doesn't go well, even though he gave up assets to get him,
02:35but if it doesn't go well, you know, you have Timmons around
02:37and other options you can throw in there to replace him.
02:40Of course, like I said, it wouldn't be ideal to give up those assets
02:43and not play him, but I think in the right role,
02:45you're probably confined service there.
