Evan makes the case for the Jets to take on Tua's contract if it means getting a first-round pick in return.

00:00Well, hold on. I'm not even a huge fan of Tua.
00:02Okay.
00:03But an unnamed executive told Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports that for a team to take Tua's
00:10TUA contract, which is a bad one, the Dolphins would have to offer a first-round pick.
00:15And as soon as I saw that...
00:17Wait, so the Dolphins would get rid of Tua, but then also have to give a first-round pick?
00:23Correct. They would have to entice a team to take back a bad contract, and it is.
00:27Is he that bad? He's not that bad.
00:28Well, the contract is, and yes.
00:30Oh, got it, got it.
00:31Look, he's damaged goods. Let's just have an open conversation about him.
00:35He's young, so I had him a little bit higher on my quarterback chart,
00:38only because when you're young, there's always that chance.
00:40But the reality is, he's not a healthy player.
00:43And I would be very surprised if Tua turned his career around.
00:46It would not surprise me as much if Kyler Murray turned his career around.
00:49But this is not about Tua, and that's what I don't want people to get lost in.
00:53As a New York Jet fan, with oodles of cap space this year and next year,
00:57and no clear planet quarterback, I absolutely would be interested
01:02in absorbing that abomination of a contract if they're going to give me a first-round pick.
01:07What?
