00:16Multiple American MQ-9 Reaper drones have now been lost during the ongoing operation,
00:22and Iranian forces claim at least one of them was shot down by their air defense systems.
00:29And, if those claims are true, this could be a serious blow to one of the most important
00:34surveillance weapons in the U.S. arsenal.
00:37Let's break down what's happening.
00:39The MQ-9 Reaper is not just any drone, it's one of America's most advanced remotely piloted
00:46aircraft used for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and precision strikes.
00:51Equipped with high-end sensors, long-range cameras, and Hellfire missiles, the Reaper
00:56has been a key platform for U.S. operations across the Middle East for years.
01:00But now, during the latest operation, at least three Reapers have been confirmed lost.
01:06One drone was reportedly intentionally crashed by U.S. forces into the sea near Iran, possibly
01:12to prevent sensitive technology from falling into Iranian hands.
01:16Another loss came from an unexpected source, friendly fire.
01:21Reports suggest Qatari air defenses accidentally shot down an American Reaper during a chaotic
01:26moment while intercepting Iranian missiles and drones in crowded airspace.
01:30But the third incident is where things get interesting.
01:34Iranian sources claim their air defense systems shot down a Reaper over south Iran or near
01:39Isfahan province.
01:40The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the IRGC, even released footage showing a drone
01:46being hit midair, suggesting that Iran's defensive network is capable of targeting high-altitude
01:51US UAVs.
01:53If verified, that would highlight a growing capability in Iran's layered air defense systems, some
01:59based on upgraded Soviet-era platforms and indigenous technology.
02:03And the losses are not cheap.
02:05Each MQ-9 Reaper costs roughly $30 to $34 million.
02:10That means the three confirmed losses alone could represent around $90 to $100 million in
02:16hardware gone.
02:17And that doesn't even include operational costs, mission disruption, or replacement time.
02:22The situation in the skies has been extremely intense.
02:26There have already been reports of mass drone interceptions, missile exchanges, and even friendly
02:30fire incidents involving US aircraft.
02:32In fact, in a separate incident, three US F-15E strike Eagles were reportedly lost in a friendly
02:40fire event over Kuwait, though the crew survived.
02:43Meanwhile, the IRGC also released another clip showing Iranian defenses locking onto a US fighter
02:48jet and firing missiles.
02:50The aircraft managed to escape by deploying decoy flares and evasive maneuvers, but the footage
02:54still demonstrates how contested the airspace has become.
02:57For Iran, these releases serve another purpose, showing domestic audiences that their defenses
03:03can challenge some of the most advanced US military technology.
