The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have expressed disappointment following the decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the appeals filed by the association and seven players.

In a statement issued on Friday (March 6), the national football body acknowledged receipt of the operative part of the award issued by CAS.

00:06following a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, CAS,
00:11involving appeals filed by the association and seven footballers.
00:15In a statement issued Friday, FAM confirmed it had received the operative part of the award from CAS,
00:22but said the sanctions imposed appeared disproportionate compared with similar cases previously handled by the Court.
00:30FAM added that it will assess the matter further once the full written decision is released.
00:36The association said it had accepted responsibility for oversight failures during the proceedings
00:43and will continue cooperating with ongoing investigations by federal authorities and FIFA.
00:49FAM also stressed that the players were not involved in the administrative process
00:55and were unaware of matters related to the documentation.
00:59CAS partially upheld the players' appeal, ruling that their 12-month suspension will apply only to official matches.
01:07However, CAS dismissed FAM's appeal, meaning the association must still pay a 1.8 million ringgit fine.
01:15FAM said it will review the full written decision once it is released,
01:20while thanking fans for their continued support during what it described as a difficult period.
