00:00A few names had been sort of publicly connected to the Islanders in the last day or two.
00:05That's Connor Garland from Vancouver.
00:07That's Jordan Kyrou from St. Louis.
00:09That's Robert Thomas, also from St. Louis.
00:11And, you know, what's interesting to me, all three of these guys have term.
00:15All three of these guys, with the exception of Garland,
00:18would just kind of require a fairly big price as far as what the return would be.
00:23So the question to me is, Matthew Darsh going to be willing to part,
00:26you know, not only with a first-round pick, but, you know, maybe with a high-end prospect,
00:30with a Victor Eklund or a Kashaun Aitchison.
00:33That's sort of the guys that you need to start thinking about
00:35when you are throwing a name like Jordan Kyrou out there.
00:38With the Islanders, they're on this sort of two-track approach.
00:42The goal is to make the playoffs this year.
00:43They've obviously performed very well this year,
00:46but they also need to consider the long term, right?
00:49Matthew Schaefer is only 18.
00:50They've got these prospects.
00:51They want to be a competitive team for a very, very long time.
00:55So how do you sort of balance that going into the trade deadline?
00:58What do you think is worth it?
01:00And I wouldn't really be surprised either way here.
01:03I wouldn't be surprised if other teams kind of just are able to beat their offers for those guys.
01:08And if that's the case, then does Darsh sort of look at the rental market,
01:11which isn't super inspiring?
01:13You're probably looking at guys who are further down the lineup,
01:16who are not sort of substantially changing the equation for this team
01:20the way some of those guys I mentioned earlier might.
