00:00Good day, listeners. You're tuned in to Milton and Hugo.
00:03And today we have a very special guest joining us to share their inspiring story in author focus.
00:11Good morning. My name is Angel Anthony Cordero.
00:14I am the author of The Life We Lead, the poetical anthology that is part autobiography, part shared experience, and
00:23part your daily companion.
00:31The idea of the book is to take a grand scheme of life and different themes that intertwine amongst all
00:40of us and present them in such a way that anyone can resonate with them.
00:46Now, poetry in and of itself can be tedious to read. I admit it, even though I write poetry.
00:52I'm honest enough to admit that it's not the most approachable genre.
00:56So The Life We Lead flips that on its head.
01:00Every single poem can be rewritten, retold, and reframed within your own life experience.
01:13The Life We Lead sort of came to me as a hobby.
01:18I was sitting down to write just to express some different ideas.
01:23And as I wrote, I noticed that different parts of my poems were talking to one another almost.
01:31And I started to say, well, what if I took this poem and that poem and I put them in
01:39sections?
01:40And as I did that, The Life We Lead started getting created.
01:51And that's kind of my favorite part of being an author.
01:54I truly believe that no story in and of itself is ever created.
01:59It was just waiting for someone to come along and tell it.
02:03And what I mean by that is words are extremely powerful and they inspire, they create.
02:13And writers, poets, artists are merely the mediums by which those words are shared.
02:26The message of my book, first and foremost, is that we should aspire to live a beautiful life.
02:37To take every moment and appreciate it.
02:41To take the 86,400 seconds we get every single day and enjoy every last one of them.
02:48Because we never know when those seconds and our hourglass will run out.
02:54And this book speaks to that and gives different themes and moments from my life that I hope resonate with
03:01readers.
03:01In such a way that they can also say, I want to live a beautiful life as well.
03:13For anyone interested in diving deep into all those themes and everything I've expressed,
03:20you're able to buy the book directly through MiltonAndHugo.com, Amazon.com, BarnesAndNoble.com,
03:27or at my website, AngelAnthonyCorderoBooks.com.
03:39I'll see you next time.
