00:47Brian McGinnis, a North Carolina Senate hopeful and former Marine, appeared to be screaming
00:52about the U.S. military offensive against Iran during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing
00:56on March 4th, yelling phrases like, Israel is the reason for this war.
01:01As the hectic scene unfolded and Capitol officers attempted to remove McGinnis, former Navy SEAL
01:07and Senator Tim Sheehy sprang into action.
01:09Sheehy can be seen jumping into the scrum and trying to yank the 44-year-old protester who
01:14was seen wearing a U.S. Marine Corps uniform out of the room.
01:17The situation only calmed down after a loud snap was heard, which appeared to be the sound
01:22of the protester's arm breaking inside the Hart Senate office building.
01:26Three officers had to be treated for injuries, while McGinnis was also treated, according to
01:30Capitol Police.
01:31On X, Sheehy wrote that the quote, unhinged protester came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation,
01:36and he got one.
01:38Just hours before the scuffle, McGinnis posted this video to X.

01:48going to send our men and women to harm's way when our elected officials said that it

02:11McGinnis has been regularly active on social media in the past, mostly focusing on peddling
02:15anti-Israel sentiment.
02:17Despite his bio on his personal account, which reads,
02:20No anti-semitism here, I am anti-war and anti-genocide.
02:24He's reposted vile derogatory caricatures of Jews, as well as a man cutting down a quote,
02:29satanic Israeli flag, to condemn Jewish terrorism.
02:33According to his website, McGinnis served in the Marine Corps and was deployed during
02:36the initial invasion of Iraq in 2003.
02:39After his honorable discharge, he attended college in Illinois before settling down in
02:43North Carolina, where he became a firefighter in 2008 and shares four kids with his wife,
02:49his bio reads.
02:50Following the viral incident, McGinnis released a GoFundMe for his campaign that was quickly
02:54on its way to its $60,000 goal within hours.
02:57His team released a statement that he would be taking a necessary step back from the public
03:02eye to allow him to focus fully on his recovery in private.
03:06McGinnis is facing three counts of assault on a police officer, as well as three counts
03:09of resisting arrest and crowding, obstructing and incommoding for the unlawful demonstration.
