00:00Hey everyone, and welcome back to our channel. Today, we've got a super exciting story from
00:06the Bible that's like something out of a superhero movie. It's all about a king who
00:11thought he could outsmart God, a brave prophet who wasn't afraid to tell the truth, and a random
00:17arrow that changed everything. Our story starts with a king named Ahab. Now, King Ahab wasn't a
00:23very good king. He liked to do his own thing and didn't really listen to God. He had a big
00:29palace,
00:29lots of power, and he was used to getting his way. One day, Ahab decided he wanted to go to
00:35war to
00:36take back a city called Ramath-Galid. He asked his friend, another king named Jehoshaphat, to help him.
00:43Jehoshaphat was a good king who loved God, and he said, Okay, I'll help you, but first, let's ask God
00:51if this is a good idea. Ahab thought, Sure, no problem. He called for his own prophets, all four
00:58hundred of them. He asked them, Should we go to war? And all four hundred prophets said, Yes, go.
01:05God will give you a great victory. They all said exactly what Ahab wanted to hear. It sounded perfect,
01:11right? But Jehoshaphat felt a little weird about it. It was all a bit too easy. He asked Ahab,
01:17Isn't there another prophet of the Lord we can ask? Just to be sure? Ahab's face got all grumpy.
01:23He said, Ugh, there is one guy, Micaiah, but I don't like him. He never says anything good about
01:30me. He's always predicting bad things. Ahab basically wanted to hear good news, even if it
01:35wasn't true. He preferred happy lies over the hard truth. But Jehoshaphat insisted, so they called for
01:42Micaiah. When Micaiah arrived, the king's messenger tried to tell him what to do. He said, Hey, all the
01:49other prophets said the king will win. You should say the same thing so you don't get in trouble.
01:54But Micaiah was super brave. He said, As surely as the Lord lives, I can only say what God tells
02:01me
02:01to say. He wasn't going to lie just to make the king happy. So, Micaiah stands before King Ahab.
02:08At first, he kind of jokes with the king and says, Yeah, go ahead. You'll have a great victory.
02:15But Ahab knew he wasn't being serious. He said, Tell me the truth. And that's when Micaiah got
02:22serious. He told Ahab about a vision he had from God. He saw all the people of Israel scattered on
02:27the hills like sheep without a shepherd. This meant that if they went to battle, their leader,
02:33King Ahab, would not come back. It was a very strong warning. Micaiah then explained something even
02:39more amazing. He had seen a vision of heaven with God on his throne and all the angels around him.
02:46God asked, Who will trick Ahab into going to battle so he will be defeated? And a spirit came forward
02:52and said, I'll do it. I'll be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets. God allowed this
02:58to
02:58happen. This means God was actually in control of everything, even the bad advice from the false
03:04prophets. It was all part of his plan to bring justice because Ahab had ignored God for so long.
03:10Well, as you can imagine, King Ahab was furious. He didn't want to hear that. He basically said,
03:16See, I told you he never says anything good about me. Instead of listening to the warning,
03:21he got angry at the messenger. He ordered his guards to take Micaiah, throw him in prison,
03:27and give him only a little bit of bread and water until he returned safely from the battle.
03:32Micaiah's final words to the king were, If you ever return safely, then the Lord has not spoken
03:38through me. So, what does King Ahab do? Does he listen to the one prophet who was brave enough
03:44to tell him God's true message? Nope. He decides to listen to the 400 prophets who told him what he
03:50wanted to hear. But here's the funny part. Even though he pretended not to believe Micaiah,
03:56deep down, he was scared. He knew Micaiah's prophecies had a way of coming true.
04:01So, Ahab comes up with what he thinks is a super clever plan. He thinks,
04:06I can trick fate. I can outsmart God's plan. He tells his friend, King Jehoshaphat,
04:13Hey, you wear your fancy royal robes and ride your fancy royal chariot.
04:18You look like the king. I'm going to disguise myself as a regular soldier.
04:22I'll just blend in with the army. He thought that the enemy army would see Jehoshaphat in his
04:27kingly clothes and attack him instead, leaving the real King Ahab safe and sound.
04:32It was a sneaky plan, and it was also pretty selfish, wasn't it? He was putting his friend
04:38in danger to save himself. This shows us that Ahab was starting to believe the prophecy might be true,
04:43but instead of repenting and changing his ways, he tried to find a sneaky way out. He was relying on
04:50his own cleverness instead of trusting God. So the battle begins. King Ahab is in his disguise,
04:57feeling pretty smart. King Jehoshaphat is in his royal robes, looking like a big, shiny target.
05:03The enemy commander had given his soldiers a specific order, don't fight with anyone,
05:08small or great, except the king of Israel. So they were all looking for Ahab. When they saw Jehoshaphat
05:15in his kingly clothes, they thought, that's him. And they all started chasing him. Jehoshaphat got
05:22really scared and he cried out to God for help. When the enemy soldiers heard his cry and got a
05:28closer
05:28look, they realized, wait a minute, this isn't King Ahab. So they turned away from him. God saved
05:35Jehoshaphat. Meanwhile, where was Ahab? He was hidden among his troops, probably thinking his
05:42plan had worked perfectly. He had avoided being the main target. He thought he was safe. But you
05:47can't hide from God. The Bible tells us that a certain man, we don't even know his name, drew his
05:53bow at random. That means he wasn't aiming at anyone special. He just shot an arrow into the crowd of
05:59soldiers. And where did that random arrow go? Out of all the thousands of soldiers on the battlefield,
06:05that one arrow flew through the air and struck King Ahab. Was it just bad luck? A coincidence?
06:11No way. This was God's plan all along. God used a random arrow from a random soldier to make sure
06:18his word came true. Ahab's clever disguise, his sneaky plan, all of it meant nothing. God's plan is
06:25always perfect and no one can stop it. Even though he was badly hurt, Ahab had his men prop him
06:31up in
06:31his chariot so he could watch the rest of the battle. He didn't want his soldiers to see him
06:36fall and lose hope. But as the sun went down, King Ahab died right there in his chariot.
06:42Just as Micaiah had prophesied, the shepherd of Israel was gone. A messenger went through the army
06:48shouting, every man to his city and every man to his own country. The battle was over. Ahab never returned
06:55safely, just as Micaiah had said. The king who thought he could outsmart God was defeated by a
07:01single random arrow, guided by the hand of God. So, what can we learn from this incredible story?
07:08First, it teaches us about telling the truth, even when it's hard. Micaiah was a hero because he was
07:15more afraid of disobeying God than he was of making a king angry. He chose truth over popularity.
07:21Second, it shows us that it's so important to listen to God's warnings. Ahab had a clear choice.
07:27He could listen to the truth and be saved, or listen to the lies and face the consequences.
07:32He chose the lies because they made him feel better for a moment, but it led to his downfall.
07:38Sometimes the truth is tough to hear, but it's always for our own good. And the biggest lesson
07:44of all is about God's power. God is sovereign, which is a big word that means he is in complete
07:49control of everything. Nothing happens by accident. Ahab tried everything he could to escape his fate.
07:56He threw the prophet in jail. He disguised himself. He used his friend as a decoy. But none of it
08:02worked.
08:02God's plan will always succeed. That random arrow shows us that God can use anything and anyone to
08:09accomplish his will. This story isn't just about a king from a long time ago. It's for us today.
08:14We all have to choose whether we will listen to the truth from God's word, the Bible, or if we'll
08:20just
08:20listen to what we want to hear. Let's be like Micaiah, brave enough to stand for the truth, and like
08:26Jehoshaphat, wise enough to seek God's guidance. And let's always remember that God is in control,
08:33and we can trust him, no matter what. Thanks so much for watching with me today. I hope you loved
