00:00When I move over to this seat where Stiney sits during their show, or where I sit during our show,
00:06that's the first time that I can see our text line, the Boxer and Gerson Work Injury Attorney's text line.
00:12I look halfway down the board.
00:14One of you great listeners, 415, just wrote, did you guys take any food to go?
00:21And I just appreciate the text.
00:24The answer is no.
00:26Well, that's a great question.
00:28It was. It's a great question.
00:30The answer is no.
00:31I would have if there had been any left.
00:34But the thing is, is you got a bag.
00:38The postman from Capitola brought you a giant Ziploc bag, marks to go food on it, and that was part
00:45of his bit.
00:46Right.
00:46And he put a Pearl Jam shirt in it, too, that didn't fit him, and he hopes that it fit
00:51me.
00:52So, postman, great to meet you.
00:53And all of the listeners, Barry, the rest of you who all were there last night.
00:58I got gifts that were intended for signing.
01:01So, there's that.
01:02Well, I mean, what are you going to do?
01:04Yeah.
01:04But anyway, point being is, that was a chef's kiss of a night.
01:10So, it's easy to thank the Sharks, and I want to, but I want to start by thanking the listeners.
01:16Because you showed up with energy, with smiles.
01:21Obviously, you had to get after it to even win this prize.
01:24And so, you did, and I'm thankful for that.
01:28I'm thankful for Tim Jordan, Matt Nahagian, Jesse Moore, everybody who's involved, Whitley, in getting everybody over there.
01:37Lucas, Grandy are there.
01:38And then, yes, the San Jose Sharks, absolute first class, all the way across the board with the way that
01:46everything was handled.
01:46And then, I would like to thank one more group, the Sharks.
01:50Right.
01:50Because, holy crap.
01:52I mean, I was telling you guys earlier in the day, because of my former life in L.A., where
01:57I went to every game for every sport every night,
02:00I've been to tons of hockey games in my life.
02:03Not nearly as many for the Sharks.
02:06But that was, I think that was like my favorite hockey game I've ever been to in my entire life.
02:11What an unbelievable performance by all the young guys.
02:17Yeah, and both teams, because Montreal came back and tied it at five, and goals were flying all over the
02:22place, like bats in the belfry.
02:24Six goals in the third period.
02:25And you look at the Sharks in particular, and you see a young core.
02:29And we were just looking up at the thing on TV with the drafting of Festus and Draymond and Harrison
02:36Barnes.
02:36And you already had Steph, and you had Klay the next year.
02:39It was a young core.
02:41And you look at the Sharks, and you see not only the three guys who were top three picks in
02:46the last three years,
02:47but other young players, and it's a team on the rise.
02:50Definitely one to watch.
02:51When you don't get to go to a lot of games, and obviously we work till 6 o'clock, and
02:57we work in San Francisco.
02:59It's not easy to get to home Sharks games for us.
03:02When you don't get to a lot of games, but you follow that team, let's be real.
03:07In this moment, yes, you're hoping for them to win, but there's one main thing that you're hoping for when
03:13you walk into that arena.
03:15And it happened.
03:18Smith trying to find the puck in center.
03:20Celebrini follows up.
03:22He's got it.
03:22Macklin's in the zone.
03:23Shoots.
03:24Goal!
03:29The brilliance of Macklin's Celebrini on display.
03:33And the Sharks have their first lead.
03:36And they would never trail again.
03:38Now, they would cough up a big lead, but they would never trail again.
03:41That's Randy Hahn, NBC Sports, California on the call.
03:45Macklin's Celebrini, 5-0.
03:47Yeah.
03:48And just an absolutely beautiful individual performance.
03:50This is what we were there all to see.
03:52A little bit of a softie by the goalie, but I mean, you don't apologize.
03:55He could have stopped it.
03:57No one was in front of him, and he just kind of let it eke through.
04:00But the call is phenomenal, and it doesn't even do it justice because he takes the puck,
04:04and he lifts it up between two guys.
04:06I think it goes over one stick and through the other guy's legs,
04:09and then he has to juke, juke, juke to the corner, wrister, I score, I'm great.
04:14And I know this comparison's not going to be fair because he's 19,
04:18but watching him play, I get Steph vibes because he does things out there
04:24that you don't normally see, so many wow moments.
04:27He's different, and that's what stands out.
04:30And it doesn't even matter if you're a huge hockey fan.
04:33When you're there and you watch, you can just see it.
04:38Like, we tried to even ask the guys yesterday, like,
04:41what is it that's different about him?
04:42And they're like, hey, not the fastest, he's not the biggest, he's not the anything.
04:47He's just different.
04:48He's different.
04:49You can feel it when he's got the puck.
04:51You can feel it in the whole arena.
04:53And, you know, it's funny that you said that because I thought of Steph, too.
04:58You know how, like, it could be a big moment in a Warrior game,
05:02and Klay could hit a big three.
05:04And Oracle, let's go back to Oracle days.
05:07And the place would go nuts.
05:09But what sounded different than a big three by the Warriors?
05:13A Steph three.
05:15It sounds different.
05:17The whole arena sounds different.
05:19It's absolutely the exact same thing happens with Macklin Celebrini.
05:23No doubt.
05:23And, you know, the team is, they're just exciting.
05:26And even though they fell behind early, like you said, they fought,
05:29and Montreal answered, and ultimately they delivered.
05:32You had six goals in the third.
05:34You had multiple fights.
05:35That was just entertainment.
05:37And the other name I thought of, Mark, and you'll love this one about Macklin,
05:41and you just said he's different.
05:42Tim Lincecum.
05:43Because he was just different.
05:46The windup and, you know, the hair and some of the pitches he would throw.
05:50He had just such electric stuff.
05:52I know it didn't end the way that it's going to end with Steph, but he's just special and he's
05:57different.
05:57Well, I mean, in a way it did.
06:01Championships.
06:01Right.
06:02Multiple championships.
06:03And there's no doubt that's what that franchise is now pointing to as well.
06:08That is what they are hoping this next generation is all about.
06:11So, anyway, just a wonderful night.
06:13And all of us, I think, woke up still kind of thinking about it.
06:16Yeah.
06:17And it was great meeting everybody, and the Sharks organization was awesome.
06:20It was just a phenomenal time down there, and I can't wait until we do it again.
06:24I can't either.
06:25And my advice to everyone who hasn't gone or if you have gone and you want to go, get your
06:30tickets, like, today.
06:31Because they're starting to sell out.
06:33People are catching on to the fact that they're back.
06:37And it's been, what, five or six years since they made the playoffs, and hopefully they'll make it this year.
06:42But they're on the rise.
06:44SAP Center was a vibe.
06:47Oh, yeah.
06:47There's no question about it.
