00:00Apple just unveiled its first ever budget laptop, the MacBook Neo, alongside the iPhone 17e,
00:06so let's go get our hands on them. First up is the MacBook Neo, the $599 laptop that aims to
00:14take on window PCs and homebooks for budget-minded shoppers. It costs far less than the nearly $1,100
00:20MacBook Air, but provides many of the same features. The Neo has Apple's signature design
00:25using the same premium aluminum sound on higher-end Macs, along with a full keyboard and trackpad.
00:31The biggest visual change is its vibrant color lineup. There's a silver, indigo, blush, and a fun
00:38citrus yellow. The Neo has a 13-inch screen, slightly smaller than the MacBook Air's 13.6-inch
00:44display, but both models weigh the same at 2.7 pounds, making the Neo easy to slip into a bag.
00:50Neo's keyboard offers the same light touch and feedback found on Apple's existing laptops,
00:55It is, however, the first Mac with color-matched keys, a subtle but fun design touch. It's also
01:01the first Apple laptop powered by a smartphone chip, the iPhone's A18 Pro. Now, the budget iPhone 17e,
01:08which also starts at $599. This one looks identical to its predecessor, the 16e. Most of the upgrades
01:15are inside. It's now powered by Apple's A19 chip for faster performance, along with the company's
01:21in-house C1X cellular modem. It also starts with 256 gigabytes of storage, double last year's base
01:29model. Apart from the new soft pink color option, the easiest way to spot the 17e is its anti-reflective
01:35display coating, matching the iPhone 17. And for the first time, it supports accessories that
01:40magnetically attach to the back of the felt.
