Record number of pies at British Pie Awards 2026

The British Pie Awards are back - and judging is under way today in Melton Mowbray, the rural capital of food, with a record number of pies.This annual celebration honours the best pie-makers across Britain, from tiny independents to major producers.With more than 20 categories from classic sweet and savoury to bold fusion creations each pie is put to the test by industry experts, chefs, food critics, and passionate pie lovers.So… which one will rise to the top and be a slice above the rest from this year’s record‑breaking 1,040 pies?Winners will be revealed at the Awards Lunch on Friday 6th March.
