00:00Amidst the escalating tensions in the Middle East, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center or CICC
00:06has issued a stern warning against the circulation of fake digital content designed to exploit the anxieties
00:13of Overseas Filipino Workers or OFWs and their families.
00:18CICC Undersecretary Renato Aboy Paraiso specifically ordered the removal of a viral and verified 25-second video
00:26that falsely depicted a Filipina live-streaming from her Dubai apartment then allegedly hit by a missile.
00:34Paraiso stressed that exploiting a crisis for social media traction is not only unethical but constitutes a crime.
00:41The CICC urged the public to immediately stop sharing this and other similar unverified posts
00:47to prevent further distress within the OFW community.
00:51The agency also encouraged the public to report any suspicious or fabricated content related to cybercrime
00:58and online exploitation to the Interagency Response Center hotline at 1326.
