00:00It is a magic trick making movies, but cinema is kind of magical.
00:05I look at this movie and it takes me back there too.
00:10Even as we're shooting it, even the first rehearsals, they would sit around a table.
00:14It was Truffaut, Yu, and Schiffman.
00:18They happened to be there at the same time and I had them talk.
00:21And they were just talking amongst themselves.
00:22We had a little script and I was like, all these years of thinking about it,
00:26I knew this film's going to work.
00:28I believe them.
00:30I believe I'm hanging out with those people.
00:33And then so we just added the rest of the cast.
00:35There's something pure and innocent.
00:38I mean, I love Godard.
00:39I mean, he's clearly a, he had such an interesting brain.
00:43It's amazing he got to make films.
00:45I think it speaks to this generation of new freedom that a guy like that could make films
00:51from his own brain and imagination so unique.
00:54It's a great moment in history.
00:55But as far as, you know, I just think, yeah, everybody, he threw off people, male and female.
01:01You know, I think that like, what was, you know, I wasn't, he kept everybody, I think
01:04the way he communicated or something.
01:06So I had opinions about him just based on, it seemed kind of a personality, particularly,
01:11but I, the wonderful thing about making this movie, I met so many people who knew him.
01:17And I hear another side of him, how generous he was.
01:20What I hear over and over, how generous he was, how positive he was.
