New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026 has officially wrapped. What's to come next fall? A look back to the past...Nostalgia takes center stage this season. Romantic silhouettes inspired by the '60s and '70s were reimagined at Cinq à Sept and Cucculelli Shaheen, and '70s punk was reimagined at Boy London. Structured silhouettes are also having a moment alla '80s at Nardos, with strong shoulders and lots of peplums. Rich texture and lots of layering there and everywhere, as well as at Frederick Anderson where black was back in a big way. At Pamella Roland, she was inspired by the penguins of Antarctica with lots of black and white looks. While the runways offer plenty of sheer looks for fall, there's also a ton of rich velvets and furs to keep us warm and cozy for a night out on the town, just like many of the classic styles at Dennis Basso.

00:01Fashion Week is wrapped in New York City.
00:03What to come next fall?
00:05A look back to the past.
00:06To the 60s, for example, at Kukulele Shaheen,
00:09where psychedelia reigns.
00:11We're in a real kind of art deco mysticism mood.
00:15Every season we're trying to like come up with new techniques.
00:18One of our favorite is like the chiffon applique on top of the tulle
00:21and then it's like kind of beaded around the edges.
00:23All the colors are hand dyed.
00:24So we're really excited about that.
00:26Yep, nostalgia takes center stage this season.
00:29Romantic silhouettes inspired by 70s rock at Sankaset
00:33and 70s punk reimagined at Boyd London.
00:36Dressier, elongated.
00:38We're seeing ties, dresses, silks, wools, leathers.
00:43So just something really elevated.
00:46Structured silhouettes also having a moment a la 80s at Nardos
00:50with strong shoulders and lots of peblums.
00:53It's a little more darker.
00:54It's very rich and it's very textured.
00:56So there's a lot of three dimension flowers.
00:59Rich texture and lots of layering here and everywhere such as Frederick Anderson
01:03where black is back in a big way.
01:06Everything had so many layers in depth of fabrics and embroideries but all in black.
01:11So when you layer it on, the woman shines through.
01:13I think it's time for the little black dress.
01:15I think when everyone's stressed, you want to go in your closet and grab that little black dress.
01:18So I did 10 of them in this show.
01:20At Pamela Rowland, it's inspired by the penguins of Antarctica.
01:24At first I thought it was going to be difficult, but it ended up not being difficult at all.
01:27Our gowns, of course, are always great.
01:29We have a couple looks of liquid organza.
01:31While the runways offer plenty of sheer looks for fall, there's a ton of rich velvets and fur
01:36to keep us warm and cozy for a night out on the town.
01:40Just ask New York legend Dennis Basso.
01:42I took the opportunity for this collection to celebrate New York and fashion in the evening and feeling special.
01:50Fashion should make you look good, but it also should make you feel good.
01:54And that was sort of my objective with this whole collection.
01:57Mission accomplished.
01:58Mission accomplished.
