00:00After taking out Iran's supreme leader, President Trump now says U.S. strikes on the Islamic Republic
00:04are about to ramp up even more. He told CNN's Jake Tapper on Monday, quote,
00:10we haven't even started hitting them hard. The big wave hasn't even happened. The big one is
00:15coming soon. The president says the whole purpose of the operation is to rid Iran of its existing
00:21military leadership and weaken its offensive capabilities, a goal which he said has been
00:26largely accomplished. We also projected four weeks to terminate the military leadership. And as you
00:34know, that was done in about an hour. So we're ahead of schedule there by a lot. Both the president
00:40and secretary of war Pete Hegseth said that while no American boots are on the ground in Iran now,
00:46they wouldn't rule it out in the future if they deem it necessary. President Trump ensures that
00:50our enemies understand we'll go as far as we need to go to advanced American interests. But we're not
00:56dumb about it. You don't have to roll 200,000 people in there and stay for 20 years. Monday's
01:00discussions of the strikes came as the number of U.S. military deaths in the operation rose to six.
01:05Also on Monday, three U.S. fighter jets were shot down by friendly fire, specifically the Kuwaiti
01:11military. Now, the pilots did all make it out alive. And here at home, the Gang of Eight got up
01:16to speed
01:16on the operation. Now, they are a bipartisan group of congressional leaders who, by law, are briefed on
01:21classified intelligence matters. Now, today, the full Congress will hear from Secretary of State
01:26Rubio, CIA Director Ratcliffe, as well as Secretary of War Hegseth, and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs,
01:32General Dan Cain.
