00:0041-year-old mom Stephanie Minter was stabbed to death at a Virginia bus stop last week,
00:04allegedly by an illegal migrant from Sierra Leone. Incredibly tragic on its own. More tragic
00:09because it was preventable. This mom of one did not need to lose her life. 32-year-old Abdul Jalloh
00:15was identified as the suspect after surveillance video and interviews revealed that he was the last
00:20person seen with Minter when they exited a bus together at a stop about 10 miles outside of
00:25Washington, D.C. Jalloh was arrested on Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder as well
00:29as petty larceny from a separate crime that happened earlier in the same day. Now, the alleged killer has
00:35a miles-long list of priors, more than 30 of them. Yes, I just said 30-plus crimes, and they're
00:42very
00:42serious charges. Rape, malicious wounding, drug possession, identity theft, firing a weapon,
00:47the list goes on. Now, he entered the United States illegally in 2012 and had an ICE detainer
00:52lodged against him in 2020. A judge then granted a final order of removal to a country other than
00:58his native Sierra Leone. ICE has launched a detainer requesting that Jalloh not be released
01:02from police custody, calling on Governor Abigail Spanberger and, quote, Virginia's sanctuary politicians
01:08to commit to not releasing this murderer and violent career criminal from their jail without
01:13notifying ICE.
