01:19All three men were rounded up.
01:22I have not heard from them, but I hope that they are able to provide their own statements to prove
01:26that my father feared for his life as unmarked cars followed my dad, who only wanted to get back to
01:33work and back to us.
01:36After nearly 35 years of working to give us the American dream, he made the choice to begin the process
01:43of obtaining his American dream through a work permit.
01:48We dotted every I, crossed every T, filled every document, attended every appointment.
01:53He was close to obtaining his legal status.
01:57My father was a private man, a man who dedicated his life to work.
02:03He worked the last 30 years of his life building homes in the Houston suburbs.
02:08Part of his dream was to build a house for himself and his family, just like the hundreds he had

02:15One that he could call home.
02:17What happened, though, my father was being followed by two unmarked cars.
02:22Had my father seen an emblem of ICE or an emblem that says anything about law enforcement agency, my father
02:29would have complied.
02:30He would have stopped.
02:31He would have not ran away because he feared for his life.
02:34He drove fast because he feared that someone would take his tools.
02:38One of his worst fears is that someone took away his work tools because that's the tools of his, the
02:43van as well, because that is how he made his livelihood.
02:46That's how he raised us.
02:47That's how he fed us for the last 35, 40 years of his life.
02:52So had my father seen any emblems on those cars, he would have complied.
02:57He would have stopped.
02:58He would have not reacted the way he did.
03:02Unfortunately, that was not the case.
03:04ICE did not present himself to him in an orderly manner.
03:08In a professional manner that any law enforcement agency should have, should, that's the standard, to identify yourself.
