00:00European trust in the US is at an all-time low.
00:03Is public opinion turning to China?
00:10The repeated blows dealt by the Trump administration to Europe by claims that Europeans don't
00:16pay enough for NATO, the EU was created to screw the US, the tariff war, warnings of
00:21civilisation suicide and expansionist remarks about Greenland are leaving a visible mark
00:27on Europe's public opinion.
00:28In countries like Germany, Spain and Italy, more people see the US as a danger than North
00:34Korea and China.
00:36According to a Utrend poll, on average, 20% of people consider the US a major menace, with
00:41Spain leading at 31%, but there is more, the survey also points to a subtle shift.
00:48Europeans appear to be warming to Washington's main global rival, China.
00:53Take a look.
00:54Beijing ranks last among the major powers considered dangerous and it goes further.
00:59In a broader list of 19 potential threats, including corruption, cybersecurity, climate and wars,
01:06almost no one picked China's foreign policy as a main concern.
01:10Washington's foreign policy, by contrast, placed second, only behind migration, which is the
01:16major concern across the surveyed countries, especially in Britain.
01:21Poland is the only exception on migration, as respondents overwhelmingly say that their
01:26main concern is potential Russian aggression.
