00:00Which move is standing out to you more?
00:03Which one has got your mind more?
00:05Is it trading Titus Howard to Cleveland
00:08or bringing in David Montgomery into this running back room?
00:12Tyler, we'll take care of you.
00:13Let's start with our guy, Derwin.
00:15Derwin, which one has got your brain more,
00:18David Montgomery or Titus Howard?
00:22Let's keep it real, Ron.
00:24Look, if Titus Howard walked into that room
00:27and demanded $70 million,
00:29knowing that we've got all of those positions to fill,
00:33Nick probably said, you know what?
00:35I ain't got it,
00:36but I know somebody who will give you $70 million
00:39and send him on over there.
00:41We just got to make sure that they don't start
00:43at Dollar General and five and below.
00:46They need to get up in academy
00:47and get some real offensive linemen in here,
00:50somebody that are true to those positions, man.
00:55I hear you, man.
00:56No, that's a part of it.
00:58That's a great, nice shot.
01:00Tried and true.
01:01You want good quality.
01:02That's got a resume that'll last.
01:04Academy Sports and Outdoors.
01:05All over the place.
01:06Yes, indeed.
01:07Got to be one close to you.
01:09No, I mean, but that's the other part to it, right?
01:11Like in a vacuum,
01:13like if you just say it out loud,
01:14hey, they've drafted two tackles the last two years
01:17in the second round of the draft,
01:18and one of them is a left tackle, right?
01:20And he is your left tackle you feel good about in nursery.
01:24You could say, all right, this guy's second contract we signed him to,
01:28and maybe this now is the third one at 29.
01:30Are we going to do it again?
01:32It can make sense of it, and that's fine, all right?
01:36Now, we know Blake Fisher's not ready to take over and be a starter,
01:39and we know now he'll do Scruggs not even on the team,
01:41and then there's not another guard
01:43unless you think Jarrett Patterson is ready to take over,
01:45and I just don't think those are moves you're talking about
01:47if you're trying to put a ring on the bull
01:49or the bull on the ring or whatever they're trying to put on it.
01:52Like, so I would imagine, like,
01:55this means that they are going to have to make some moves,
01:58and to your point, Derwin, you know,
02:01you only bring up the Dollar General stuff
02:04and needing to go to Academy Sports
02:07because they have done that before.
02:09Like, they traded away Laramie Tunsil.
02:12They said, how are we going to replace him?
02:14Cam Robinson, okay.
02:16Right?
02:16Like, Lincoln Tomlinson, okay.
02:19A.J. Kahn and Shaq Mason.
02:22Like, we've seen it, so that's the other part of it.
02:25So, trading Titus Howard, like you said,
02:27from a football perspective, you can get it.
02:28Now it's just what they do off of it.
02:31That is the part of it.
02:33All right.
02:34Larry, it's been a minute.
02:35Larry and Stafford, what's on your mind more?
02:37Is it Titus moving on or them bringing in David Montgomery?
02:42Well, so I want to first say thank y'all for taking me off that block list
02:48y'all had me on, man.
02:49Y'all don't want your boy to call in, man.
02:51You ain't on no block list, Larry.
02:53I know I talked about your shoes, but I heard you losing weight again
02:57and you eating good, man.
02:59You don't have to hold your boy out, but let me get to it, man.
03:02First of all, so on a day like today, you stop at the Kona store
03:06and get you a fan of strawberry and a bag of Doritos,
03:09and you sit back and you enjoy what's going on.
03:12The move that is enticing to me is going to get David Montgomery,
03:16and I'll explain to you why, because there's plenty of old linemen in this draft
03:20and there's going to be plenty of them in free agency,
03:22and there's going to be a few more days that's going to get cut
03:25that you can go out there and get and solidify that offensive line.
03:29But here's the real truth to all of this.
03:32The Houston Texans have to push all their chips into the middle of the table
03:37at this point because you got your quarterback on a rookie deal
03:41who didn't end the season the way that he wanted to end the season,
03:46but you have an opportunity to go back to that same place again
03:50and go beyond that to the AFC Championship and a possible Super Bowl.
03:55You push your chips all the way into the table, man,
03:58and you go out there and you get you somebody that can tote that thing.
04:02And if you don't remember, the Texans were one of the worst teams in the red zone
04:06and on short yardage in the red zone in the National Football League.
04:10And David Montgomery makes that a lot better already,
04:13and he ain't even put no pads on.
04:15I like the fact that D'Amico has said he is going to fix that offensive line
04:20and he's going to fix that running game.
04:22This does not mean you can't draft your running back.
04:25What this does mean is that if you want that tight end from Oregon,
04:28you can go get him now because now you don't have to prioritize running back.
04:33Fellas, this is a great day, man.
04:34I'm going to finish these Doritos and this plant of strawberries,
04:37and sure, I'm going to see your fine ass in a little bit.
04:39A couple of things there.
04:41One, if you're going to go fan of strawberry, obviously, that is a correct choice.
04:46Orange, maybe.
04:47Doritos and fantasy.
04:48Oh, yeah, that is.
04:49And he's probably old school, so he probably just went regular Doritos.
04:53I got a spicy nacho in there that could be an answer for you.
04:56I'm not sure.
04:58It's a good thing.
04:59But my thing is, hey, I hear you, Larry.
05:03But, Tyler, how long have they been trying to fix this offensive line?
05:06How many years have we walked into the offseason?
05:09Since the war.
05:10Since the war.
05:11Yes.
05:12Every year.
05:13Every year since D'Amico.
05:14You need to specify that.
05:16Yeah.
05:17Before the current one.
05:19But, no.
05:20But, I mean, every year.
05:21Every year, D'Amico.
05:22The offseason is the next one.
05:24We've got to get the offensive line.
05:25We've got to get the offensive line.
05:27Let's not just say, hey, there's plenty of guys out there in free agency.
05:32There's plenty of guys in the draft.
05:34There's been plenty of them Jokers every year.
05:36They don't seem to be able to pick them.
05:38It was plenty of them Jokers walking around last year.
05:41And you know what they said?
05:43Cam Robinson, Laken Tomlinson, Jake Andrews, and Ed Ingram.
05:48I got one.
05:49They draft.
05:50There's plenty of linemen in the draft.
05:51How many they draft last year?
05:53One.
05:54Seven, eight picks.
05:55So, let's not just say, hey, man.
05:57Like, if they was picking corners, receivers.
06:00If they had to fill corners, receivers, defensive ends, linebackers.
06:05Hell, interior linemen.
06:07I'd be like, here we go.
06:10No.
06:10They've got to fill that one thing that has been giving them problems since they
06:14arrived here.
06:15So, let's just not just act like, all right, yeah, there are guys out there.
06:19I'll give you the list a little bit later.
06:21There is a list of a bunch of veteran offensive linemen that you could work.
06:27But, I mean, let's just not act like they just, they knock them dead every time
06:31they do it.
06:32Uncle Glenn, man, we've got to get you in.
06:34Uncle Glenn, what's on your mind?
06:35Is it Titus, the move that traded Titus, or bringing in David Montgomery?
06:40What kind of question is that?
06:42It's David Montgomery.
06:44But let me tell you something, fellas.
06:46And I ain't got a dog in the fight.
06:48I grew up.
06:49I was born in California.
06:52And from kindergarten on after that, I'm a Texan.
06:56But let me tell you something.
06:58I don't give a damn about this team, but I applaud them.
07:02Doorbells, doorbells.
07:04Last year, the Bears hit it at the park with a kick-ass center, left guard, right guard.
07:12Now, it's time somebody get a switch and takes it to Nick Casario.
07:18Larry got a good heart.
07:20I'm not going to go ahead.
07:21Glenn, do you want Nick to go get his own switch?
07:25Or are you going to get it?
07:27No, no, I want Larry to get it so he can switch it.
07:28And I'll help him.
07:30And Larry got a good heart.
07:31God bless you, Larry.
07:32I know what you're saying.
07:34But what Houston needs to do, beg, borrow, and steal to get Tyler Linderbaum, get Mace.
07:41They need to get the top, like y'all were saying.
07:43You need to shop at Neiman Marcus instead of Walmart.
07:48You need to swing for the fishes.
07:52But I'm glad they got the back.
07:54But you need to get the best that's available, not just folks that are out there.
08:00All right.
08:01All right, Anc.
08:01Yeah, it is.
08:02No, that's going to be the next thing.
08:04There are going to be moves made.
08:08We just, I know we got it.
08:09I know we got it.
08:10Just real quick.
08:12As we sit right here, what is it, March 2nd, Clinton Tyler.
08:16When we see them finally make the O-line moves, like when we see whether this is draft, I think
08:25we're going to see some free agency in this draft.
08:28Do you think you're going to be loving it?
08:31Do you think you're going to be feeling good about these moves?
08:33Or do you think you're going to come in here and lose your mind?
08:39Yeah, I mean, I would.
08:41The toss-up.
08:42I'm going to lean towards losing it.
08:44But, I mean, look, I mean, it's just.
08:48I give it a fitty-fitty.
08:49Look, I mean, Ed Ingram worked out.
08:50Trent Brown worked out.
08:51They got lucky last year.
08:52I mean, I'm not minimizing the moves.
08:57Like, they did some stupid stuff last year.
09:00I don't think they intended either one of those to start.
09:03I don't think they intended either one of those to start right off the bat.
09:05Yeah, I mean, just either way it goes.
09:07I mean, there was, like, some of the stuff last year.
09:10It's easy.
09:11And I agree with Nick Cassero.
09:13You can sit here right now and say, hey, man,
09:15offensive line was not the reason we didn't win last year.
09:18Could we have been better?
09:18Yeah, but it wasn't the reason we didn't win.
09:20I don't know what film you are.
09:21Whatever he said.
09:21Like, I don't have a problem with Nick saying that.
09:23But the fact that you did it picking up a guy that New England didn't want
09:27last minute, the fact that you did it with Ed Ingram,
09:30who was absolutely a bust until he played well for you,
09:34the fact that you did it with Trent Brown,
09:36who didn't put a pad one on until midseason,
09:40and the fact that you did it rotating left guards,
09:43who both guys ended up not even in the too deep after midseason.
09:47Like, the way in which you did it,
09:49you can't tell me was, like, something that you want to applaud.
09:52Like, you landed in a decent place,
09:54but you got damn lucky doing it.
09:57And then it bit you in as soon as Trent got hurt in the playoff.
09:59Good point.
10:00Fair, fair point.
10:01And you had to swing stuff around.
10:02Yeah.
10:02So, I don't –
10:04I mean, I hope like hell that they go out there and spend some money
10:11and get a couple of guys inside that are surefire plug and play.
10:15We're not rotating guards through six, seven weeks in the season.
10:18But I don't have any –
10:19I don't have confidence that they're going to do that.
10:20I think it's going to be at least two guys we feel really good about.
10:23I don't know that they're going to bang this thing out like he –
10:26like the Bears did.
10:28Uncle Glenn was talking about what the Bears, you put him in.
10:30And it's like –
10:30What the Bears did, it was just like, hey, if this don't work,
10:35I can't blame Brian Pohl.
10:37Right?
10:38Like, it just didn't work.
10:39Right now, he may lose his job,
10:41but he went out and got the best center on the market.
10:43He went out and got a four- or five-time all-pro guard
10:47and went out and got another Pro Bowl guard and said,
10:49damn it, we got Caleb and we're going to protect him.
10:52And we got our tackles that we've drafted.
10:54If that doesn't work, like, I can't even get mad at him.
10:57But you're damn sure going to get mad if we, man,
10:58we got to fix the quarterback and I'm going to get $3 million
11:01Lakin Tomlinson.
11:01And they went out and hired the best offensive mind in the game as well.
11:04And Ben Johnson, one of, if not these.
11:07So –
11:07They just had a total different approach than the Texans have offensively.
11:12And I'm just going to be honest with you.
11:13You look at what they're doing offensively.
11:15There was never a moment in New England where they went out
11:18and just loaded up on cats like that offensively.
11:24So, probably ain't going to happen here.
11:26Oh, I hope I'm wrong.
