00:05all right let's cut across to the latest news break that is coming in america has come and
00:10clarified u.s secretary of war made it very clear we will end this war on our terms this is
00:17not iraq
00:17this is not an endless war operation is destroy iranian nuclear weapons he further went on to
00:25state that former regime had chance to make a deal but tehran was stalling with listen in to the latest
00:33that's coming to the media outlets and political left screaming endless wars stop this is not iraq
00:50this is not endless i was there for both our generation knows better and so does this
00:57president he called the last 20 years of nation building wars dumb and he's right this is the
01:05opposite this operation is a clear devastating decisive mission destroy the missile threat
01:12destroy the navy no nukes israel has clear missions as well for which we are grateful
01:21capable partners as we've said since the beginning capable partners are good partners
01:29all right you just heard the u.s secretary of war pete exit make it very clear this is not
01:35an endless
01:35war uh as per the secretary of war he made it clear that uh this wasn't started by the united
01:43states the regime had a chance to make a deal but tehran was stalling it so practically forcing the hand
01:49of america with israel in a joint operation the operation is eventually to destroy iranian nuclear weapons
02:02all right so that's the latest coming in i want to quickly bring in our senior journalist
02:06someone who's been tracking the crisis very closely in west asia sandeep unathan who's in the studio
02:12with me sandeep you have now america coming in and i would think the big ticket announcement is where
02:20he also said that this is not an endless war this is not iraq and practically as per america their
02:26hand
02:27was forced absolutely uh pritia and you know it's very interesting he would make the comparison with
02:31the 2003 uh u.s invasion of iraq that was a long costly deployment of the united states 20 years
02:40is
02:40what they spent several trillion dollars thousands of u.s uh soldiers died in that operation here it
02:46was meant to be a regime change operation now the big question is that could they change the regime
02:51through just airstrikes and you know in that statement pete exit seems to indicate that they've
02:56already achieved some of their uh objectives by saying that the former regime for instance he
03:01says that he uses that word to imply that they've already achieved some of their uh objectives by uh
03:07you know uh uh changing the regime going into this war he says we didn't start this war but we
03:11are
03:11finishing it and this so called this is not a so-called regime change war but the regime sure did
03:16change that's those are his uh words there so very interesting that the u.s already seems to be looking
03:22for an off ramp to say look we've already done what we had to do we've destroyed their nuclear
03:26facilities we've changed the regime in a sense so uh you know it do you see it do you see
03:32a bit of
03:32backpedaling there because sandeep because that's what it seems to suggest because you know when the
03:37military action started in the form of airstrikes it was made very clear that this was to change and
03:43flip the regime in iran absolutely and now they all they seem to indicate from uh pete exit statement
03:49it seemed to indicate that they've already achieved that regime change that they wanted to
03:52which is to assassinate ayatollah khamenei and that's uh it's it's interesting that a lot of what
03:58happened in the last uh three days uh pretty something that they didn't uh you know uh plan for the
04:04fact
04:05that they never assumed that iran would retaliate the way it did after ayatollah ali khamenei's uh assassination
04:12that they would expand the theater of conflict into so many other gulf nations to attack commercial
04:17interests over there so this is clearly the u.s attempting some amount of damage control looking
04:23for an off-ramp to try and try and so number one to break it down because this is also
04:28uh you know
04:29with what president trump has been saying in the last 48 hours there's been mixed messaging yes but
04:33this is very clear because there seems to be a fair amount of backpedaling in the uh you know a
04:38saying
04:38it's a limited war we are not looking at an iraq because there is criticism back home as well right
04:43this will have economic implications already you know that can be seen in markets across the world
04:48and with oil uh you know will have a bearing number three where he says and i want to reflect
04:54back
04:54onto the statement that uh where he says that the regime has been changed in itself by taking out the
05:00top supreme leader america and israel seem to read it as their objective achieved right absolutely and
05:07uh they're just looking for a uh you know chance here to uh put in a mission accomplished uh sign
05:12board somewhere hang that somewhere uh just as george are we now looking at yeah are we now looking
05:17at days we're looking at possibly even hours i would think that the u.s certainly didn't bargain for
05:23this level of iranian retaliation so they would possibly at some point this is purely looking at ptex's
05:30statement that they're looking for an off-ramp here they are saying that look we achieved a lot of what
05:36we plan to do which is to change the regime to uh is it charting out an exit course it
05:41is looking for
05:41an exit course very clearly and that's uh you know based on what ptex has just said uh one has
05:47to wait
05:47and see what president donald trump now reason what how is he going to react to what's been going on
05:52in
05:53the in west asia over the last couple of hours sande before we cut across to the next bit of
05:57breaking
05:57news i want you to maybe how much of uh you know impact on what we just heard by america
06:04could be
06:04generated from as a pressure point of other gulf countries that continue to be under sustained
06:10attack by israel by iran the gulf countries there are must be furious at this moment have we seen
06:16a little you know sense of that coming out on social media platforms but the fact is that a lot
06:21of the
06:22gulf nations over there the arab monarchies are deeply vulnerable they're being caught in the line of fire
06:27this is not a war that they started out to uh you know push the united states into right this
06:33is a
06:33war that they were dragged into they have no choice and the very reason that america had bases in these
06:37countries the you know the official explanation was to protect these nations absolutely and it's
06:42counterproductive right those bases these gulf nations are under attack because of those very
06:47same bases now they're asking the united states look you were meant to protect us where is your umbrella
06:52you have cruise missiles drones uh you know easily penetrating all of these uh so-called missile defenses
06:59uh and and you know we are vulnerable so at this juncture you know sandeep when we shift into our
07:04next uh you know uh news break that is coming in one can read this backpedaling and possibly that
07:10america bit off more than it could chew yes and and looking for an opportunity to say mission
07:16accomplished mission accomplished and coming out and yes speaking of it as a win and you could also
07:21already hear it in the statement there which was delivered but of course viewers all of this will need to
07:26be taken in when president trump speaks and a lot will also depend on that is he going to take
07:33a
07:33contrarian line or this is a well thought out strategy by america we know in a couple of hours
