Transcript
00:00News coming in. It seems the Iran's ambassador to IAEA, the nuclear watchdog, has said that U.S.
00:08and Israel have attacked Iranian nuclear facilities yesterday. So now finally a confirmation has come
00:14in from Iran, which seemed to be not in contact earlier with IAEA. But now it has confirmed that
00:21U.S. and Israel have attacked Iranian nuclear facilities yesterday during an attack. So
00:27Iran's ambassador to the IAEA, which is the nuclear watchdog, global nuclear watchdog,
00:34has said that when asked which nuclear facilities in Iran were attacked, he said Natanz. So we are
00:41getting that confirmation now. This is concerning as IAEA has been raising worries and concerns of
00:50possible nuclear radiation and that might lead to possible evacuation as it says that it needs
00:57all the information as to which facilities were attacked and to what extent is the damage in
01:04these nuclear facilities. Earlier, the IAEA was saying that they have not been able to get in touch
01:09with the authorities in Iran, that there was no contact. But now we are getting the news that
01:15Iran's ambassador to IAEA has confirmed that its nuclear facilities were attacked by U.S. and Israel.
01:24And when they were asked about which one exactly, well, it seems they confirmed that it was the
01:31Natanz facility which has been attacked. Now, this raises significant concerns. A nuclear facility
01:40that has been attacked, what could be the possible damage? Has it made any, the damage has it led to
01:49any
01:50sort of a possible leak? Is a question that the watchdog will be asking. What could be the possible
01:57ramification or impact on the people living close by? How big is the leak? Could there be any impact on
02:04the neighboring countries as well? These are the questions that many are asking. As we get the
02:11information that Iran is finally confirming that their nuclear facility was attacked by U.S. and
02:19Israel. Of course, we had the information earlier as released by U.S. and Israel that there were attacks
02:25that were carried out on their launch facilities, their missile storage facilities and their missile
02:31production facilities. But now we are getting confirmation that the nuclear facilities have been
02:35attacked as well. Joining us now is India Today's Shivani Sharma. Shivani, earlier it was being reported
02:41that IAEA could not get in touch with Iran as to what the situation is as far as the nuclear
02:47facilities
02:47are concerned. But now we have the confirmation that yes, the Natanz facility was attacked.
02:59Anjali, this is the fresh update that we are getting that Iran's ambassador to IAEA has now confirmed that
03:05yesterday Israeli forces had attacked the Natanz facility, the nuclear facility inside Iran. And
03:12that's what has brought this warning by the watchdog, the IAEA, that was raising concerns when we were
03:18breaking down that news a little while ago, that Natanz facility has been hit by the Israelis. That's what
03:24the Iranian ambassador to IAEA has now confirmed. And IAEA had been saying that it is not only
03:30monitoring the whole situation, but also making appeals to the nations to have restraint to
03:35do not escalate this war and especially in this direction where the nuclear emissions are not being
03:42ruled out. So this is how now the things are escalating. And this is a serious warning that has
03:47now come from the IAEA to Anjali. So now the Iranian ambassador to the IAEA is confirming that
03:52Israel had hit the Natanz facility yesterday. This happened yesterday. And earlier we'd seen that
03:58last year there was similar action where the nuclear facilities inside Iran were hit by the
04:03U.S. B2B bombers. And this time too, this action is taking place where the missiles are being taking
04:11on these nuclear sites. And what has been now confirmed is that the Natanz facility inside Iran
04:16has been hit by the Israelis. Thank you very much, Shivani, for those details.
