According to Islamic belief, Allah created Hazrat Adam (A.S.) as the first human being and the first Prophet. Allah created him from clay and gave him life by His divine command. He was honored with knowledge and was taught the names of all things. Allah placed Hazrat Adam (A.S.) and his wife Hawwa (Eve) in Paradise. However, after being tempted by Shaytan and eating from the forbidden tree, they were sent down to the earth. Their coming to the world was part of Allah’s greater plan to make human beings His vicegerents (khalifah) on earth. Hazrat Adam (A.S.) repented sincerely, and Allah accepted his repentance.
