00:00And Arizona and Kansas, this, of course, a rematch
00:03from when Kansas handed Arizona their first loss of the season.
00:09I want to stick on the Arizona piece of it, Coach.
00:12I'm curious if you agree.
00:14Arizona sat for a while as the number one team in the AP poll, right,
00:18booked as national champion favorites.
00:20They had incredible out-of-conference wins.
00:24They beat Florida on opening night.
00:26They won at UConn.
00:27They smashed Alabama.
00:30And I feel like the Arizona perception has never been higher than right now
00:39after winning at Houston.
00:42I think that occasionally when they were the number one team,
00:46while they were unbeaten before that Kansas game, right,
00:50people were waiting for a loss, and they were like,
00:53they're probably not as good as Duke.
00:54They're probably not as good as Michigan.
00:56And I feel like that game last week, right, we had the two big games,
01:01Duke-Michigan, Houston-Arizona.
01:03I feel like Arizona put all doubt to rest as to whether or not they should be
01:10considered in that Duke-Michigan class with their victory on the road
01:15against Calvin Sampson's team.
01:17It's because it's Houston.
01:19And it's because of that stretch of games that we talked about that they were going to play
01:23where we're going to find out a lot about them.
01:25And I also think, Kevin, and we'll probably get to it at some point,
01:28is we also need to find a little bit more about Houston,
01:32a team that's just not looking very Houston-like and maybe not as offensive dynamic
01:37as we thought because it kind of come back down to earth.
01:40But this is really about Arizona.
01:44And Arizona's looking at Kansas as a payback spot, you know,
01:49and we have to realize that in that win, that 82-78 win, there was no Darren Peterson.
01:53So there's that.
01:55There's so many layers and implications in this game today for Arizona,
02:03continuing to get back on track, right?
02:05You know, will they try and push tempo, make it a running game,
02:09especially with a guy dealing with a bad hamstring?
02:11Will they win the battle of the paint, right?
02:14Will they continue to be this excellent team versus quad one?
02:17Do they get one of those, Evan McKay calls it, kill shots, right?
02:22When you get to an 8-10-0 run at home, get the McHale Hill Center rocking.
02:27And then it's Kansas.
02:29You know, Flory Bedunga becomes a big player in this game
02:32in regards to him dominating the boards, offensively and defensively.
02:37Because, Kevin, if Bedunga can dominate the boards on the offensive end,
02:41that negates transition for Arizona.
02:44So that's a double-edged sword right there that Bedunga can do right there by himself.
02:49Trey White has been, you know, was terrible in this game.
02:53And let's see what he does.
02:55And for Kansas, when you deal with going to the McHale Center
02:58and in these big environments, especially a team that wants revenge,
03:02the key, shorten the game, right?
03:05Keep it close.
03:07Be within five or six points at halftime.
03:09Try to be there and then steal it in the end
03:12because that has been our thought with Arizona leading up to this stretch is,
03:17hey, you can get them in the end because they may not be able,
03:19Tommy Lloyd's group may not be able to execute, right,
03:22in the half court late-game situations.
03:24Can build self, shrink the game down, slow it down,
03:28and get it to a point where they can steal it in the end
03:30where Tommy Lloyd's team may panic and take bad shots
03:34and you steal and get the win.
03:36Man, J.Y., I'm so excited to watch this game play out here today
03:40because, you know, for Arizona, I do think, and again, I set the stage,
03:46I don't think that they necessarily have anything to prove,
03:48but I do think a dominant covering victory here would be quite a loud statement.
03:53But I tend to, you know, agree with this idea that Kansas is going to be able to hang.
03:57I think this is a really big number that we are seeing right now
04:00being priced at nine and a half.
