Another round of indirect talks between Iran and the U.S. will take place in Vienna next week, after both sides consult with their respective capitals.

00:00The latest round of talks between Iran and U.S. officials in Geneva has ended without a deal.
00:06Mediatists from Oman say, however, that significant progress was made.
00:10Both sides are expected to resume negotiations soon after consulting in their respective capitals.
00:16Technical-level discussions are scheduled next week in Vienna.
00:21Few details have emerged from the latest round of talks.
00:24However, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arachi was reported to have briefly met U.S. Envoy Steve Witkoff on the sidelines.
00:32Also involved in the discussions was the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency,
00:37which would be responsible for nuclear monitoring and verification in Iran, if an agreement is reached.
00:43The U.N. nuclear watchdog is set to hold several days of board meetings from March 6,
00:48around the same time as a 10- to 15-day deadline floated by President Donald Trump for Iran to
00:54secure a deal.
00:55The possibility of further talks may also reduce the risk of military action,
01:00after Trump previously threatened to strike Iran if diplomacy fails.
01:04The U.S. has ordered its largest military build-up in the Middle East since the 2003 invasion of Iraq,
01:11while Iran has warned it would respond to any attack with force.
