00:01Iran showed signs of potentially reaching an understanding with the U.S. following talks
00:06on Iran's nuclear program in Geneva on Tuesday.
00:10The talks came as the U.S. ramped up its military presence in the Middle East and Iran announced
00:16a temporary closure of the Strait of Hormuz for live fire drills.
00:20A new window of opportunity has opened, under which we had the second round of the negotiations
00:26with the United States earlier today here in Geneva.
00:31We are hopeful that negotiations will lead to a sustainable and negotiated solution which
00:37can serve the interests of relevant parties and the broader region.
00:42Prior to Tuesday's talks, U.S. President Donald Trump repeatedly threatened to use force to
00:47pressure Tehran to limit its nuclear program and over its deadly crackdown on recent nationwide
00:53protests.
00:53Iran has said it would not hesitate to respond with an attack if the U.S. does so first.
00:59At the same time as demonstrated during the aggression of 13 June 2025, Iran remains fully prepared
01:09to defend itself against any threat or act of aggression.
01:14The consequences of any attack against Iran will not be confined to its borders.
01:20A U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity said the talks yielded progress but
01:25said many details still needed to be discussed.
01:28The official added that the Iranian delegation plans to submit a more detailed proposal in
01:33the next two weeks.
