Iran confirmed fresh talks with Britain, France, and Germany, better known as the E3, will take place Friday in Istanbul, marking the first meeting since U.S. strikes targeted Iranian nuclear sites a month ago.

00:06According to state media, Iranian diplomats will meet with Britain, France and Germany,
00:12known collectively as the E3, the first since US strikes hit Iranian nuclear sites a month ago.
00:20The group has, over the past months, warned that sanctions could return
00:24if Tehran does not resume talks on its nuclear program.
00:27Iran has repeatedly said it will respond strongly against such action.
00:32Since September 2024, Iran and the E3 have held multiple rounds of talks
00:37on the nuclear issue and sanctions relief.
00:39Western countries and Israel accused Iran of pursuing nuclear weapons, a claim Tehran denies.
00:45On June 13, Israel launched surprise attacks targeting key military and nuclear facilities in Iran,
00:51with the US joining the attacks days later.
00:54Prior to that, Iran and the US had been engaging in several indirect nuclear talks through Oman.
