00:00In the Australian bush, you're never 100% alone.
00:08And I looked up and I see this little parrot.
00:11I heard a big swoop and there he landed right in front of me on the concrete.
00:16And then the whole gang just rolled up.
00:19I must have passed some sort of vibe test or something.
00:22I'm at a place called Wangat Lodge at Dungog, New South Wales.
00:25It doubles as a wildlife reserve, but they also do an artist residency on the side.
00:30There was one who was just glued to my side the whole evening.
00:34He was just really interested in watching me paint.
00:37Every single day, the birds would come by and visit us after our trip to the river.
00:46Every now and again, he would tilt his head to get a better look.
00:51I think my favourite part about this experience is this ongoing tradition between us and the birds for the rest
00:57of that week.
00:58They all had really distinct personalities and some were really outgoing.
01:05And others were really shy.
01:07There was also these little babies who were super shy.
01:10The presence of the birds really solidified that I was where I was supposed to be at that time.
01:17It made the end product of the tapestry extra special.
01:21This experience was a really important reminder for me that we are actually more connected to our ecosystem than we
01:26think we are.
01:27It felt really grounding, like we were both here on equal grounds, just learning about each other.
01:33It felt really cool if we could look and feel like we did have a better spot here.
01:34That I had this experience of time for my family.
01:36That is just a wrap and try not to keep an eye out.
01:40I am an plein match for offertapping for all kinds of 컨 helt design sessions.
01:42Thank you very much.
