00:05They had to put him in a giant wheelbarrow to get him to the turtle ambulance, as they
00:08called it. A diver had spotted him and noticed he was wounded. He quickly realized that his
00:14injuries were caused by a shark. Three of his fins were working well, but the one with a bite
00:19out of it was not working at all. The next evening, the diver saw Lenny again, and he seemed worse,
00:25like he couldn't swim high off the ground. The next day, when he found Lenny hiding under
00:31some coral and unable to swim to the top for a breath of air, he knew that he had to
00:35get
00:35Lenny some help. He gathered some diving friends and guided Lenny towards his boat. Once he
00:48arrived at the boat with Lenny, they knew it was going to be very difficult to get him
00:52on board, since he was a giant sea turtle.
01:02After a few tries, Lenny was on board and on his way to the turtle hospital in the Keys.
01:06Can somebody get by him, whoever records, just so we can have a size reference?
01:11I'll lay down next to him. Well, Brock's big. He's a six-foot-four man.
01:19Calm down, big boy. Come on, Lenny.
01:45And again, he had to ride in style to his hospital room. Once he was successfully in the room,
01:51Mike knew he was in the best hands. Mike continued to visit Lenny throughout his hospital stay,
01:58as the staff provided him antibiotics, wound care, and laser treatments for his fin.
02:05He responded excellently to treatment, was using his little fin, and was soon ready to be released.
02:21He was so excited to be swimming out in the open water again, and you can already see that his
02:25fin
02:26is supporting him more. Mike still often visits and sees Lenny swimming during his diving adventures.
02:35Lenny continues to be able to use a smaller fin, and he hasn't slowed down since he was released.
02:40He's just needed a little help and kindness from a stranger.
