00:00These moon bears spent years inside of tiny metal cages on an illegal wild farm.
00:07Taken from the wild as cubs, these bears grew up in captivity, never experiencing life as they should.
00:14Then, everything changed.
00:17In the largest bear farm rescue ever in Southeast Asia,
00:22free the bears and Lao authorities, shut down the illegal facility and rescued a total of 27 bears
00:31before the operation could expand and hold hundreds more.
00:36One by one, the bears were carefully transported into crates and then driven to safety.
00:44During their quarantine at the sanctuary, they slowly started to discover a whole new world.
00:52Fresh vegetables, unlimited water, things they had been denied their entire lives.
00:59And then came the moment that everybody was waiting for.
01:03For the first time in their lives, the bears stepped onto soft grass.
01:11They felt sunshine, they sniffed the forest, they climbed the trees and explored life without bars surrounding them.
01:22These bears can never return to the wild after just everything that they've endured.
