00:00The latest round of talks between the United States and Iran to pressure the regime to end
00:04the slaughter of its people and keep it from restarting efforts to build nuclear weapons
00:09are taking place today. Ahead of those meetings in Geneva, Switzerland, the U.S. slapped the
00:14Islamic Republic with fresh sanctions in a move to show we mean business. The Treasury Department
00:19announced it's targeting Iran's shadow oil fleet, as well as other networks propping up the regime's
00:25ballistic missile arsenal. At least 12 oil tankers suspected of moving millions of oil barrels for
00:31the regime were sanctioned. Those entities that the U.S. says supply Iran with, quote,
00:36precursor materials and sensitive machinery for their Revolutionary Guard Corps and Defense
00:41Ministry are based in Turkey and the UAE. Iran's foreign minister said of the sanctions, quote,
00:47whatever the U.S. is alleging in regards to Iran's nuclear program, Iran's ballistic missiles,
00:52and the number of casualties during January's unrest is simply the repetition of big lies.
00:59This all coming as President Trump claimed during his State of the Union address that Iran is aiming
01:04to restart their nuclear program leveled by U.S. attacks last summer, part of what he called
01:09pursuing their sinister ambitions. As those talks grind on, military options remain on the table.
01:16The USS Ford carrier group continues to move towards the region, and the Pentagon has moved a dozen of
01:22its most advanced fighter jets, the F-22 Raptor, to an Israeli Air Force base ahead of potential
01:28strikes. Check back with the NewYorkPost.com later today for the latest on those Geneva meetings.
