Two teenagers and a man walking his dog are recovering after being hit by lightning as thunderstorms passed over Perth. Ten thousand lightning strikes were recorded in the city this morning.

00:06Perth this morning. We know paramedics were called here to Eastern Hills Senior High School
00:12in Mount Helena at around 10 o'clock this morning after reports of a lightning strike.
00:19Two teenage girls were taken to hospital in Perth North in a separate incident this morning. A man
00:24in his 70s was rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital. Paramedics were called at 8.30 this morning to
00:30the suburb of Hammersley after they received reports. He was struck by lightning. It's understood he's in
00:37a stable condition in hospital. We also know that lightning strikes have caused a house fire in the
00:43suburb of Nollamara this morning and also a scrub fire in Banjup. The lightning strikes also caused
00:50several train lines to close across Perth this morning which have since resumed but the
00:55Public Transport Authority says people should still expect some delays.
